Job Summary:
The Training Manager will identify and monitor training needs in the organization, and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs. Candidates need to have an active NAR or the ability to gain the certification. Must be currently certified to instruct CPR/First Aid to either Red Cross or American Heart Association standard.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily activities of training of all levels of staff and managers within the company. Conducts performance evaluations pertaining to trainings that are timely and constructive.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
Prepares and implements training budget.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of training processes.
Should have a thorough knowledge of the Residential Services Curriculum and related trainings, and also possess exceptional knowledge of DDA, RCS, and WAC rules and regulations. Should have the ability to moderate large groups, be
extremely organized and detail-oriented, and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
At least three years of experience in training with three years of supervisory experience required.
Certification to train CPR and First aid from either Red Cross or the American Heart Association
Certification to train Residential Community Services 40 hour core in Washington State.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to meet the physical demands of conducting CPR/First Aid classes including:
1. A moderate amount of walking and lifting.
2. A significant amount of stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
3. Ability to repeatedly demonstrate various CPR and First Aid learning objectives.
4. Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds at times.
5. Ability to conduct sessions remotely when appropriate/necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
