Feeling dizzy after a concussion, car accident, or sports injury? πŸ€•πŸŒ€ BPPV could be the cause.

It happens when tiny crystals in the inner ear move out of place, triggering sudden spinning with certain head movements.

Symptoms often appear when you:
πŸ‘‰ Roll over in bed
πŸ‘‰ Look up
πŸ‘‰ Bend forward
πŸ‘‰ Turn your head quickly

The good news: specific repositioning movements can often return the crystals to their proper place and reduce dizziness.

Back pain is not always about weak muscles. Sometimes it is about how well your muscles work together.

Research shows exercises focused on muscle control can help reduce back pain and improve balance.

A few helpful habits:
βœ… Try slow core exercises like bird dogs or dead bugs
βœ… Focus on quality movement, not speed
βœ… Stay consistent a few times each week

Small improvements in control can help your spine feel more stable over time. πŸ’ͺ

Ever notice how headaches show up at the worst possible time? πŸ€•β°

Tension-type headaches often feel like a tight band around the head.

Research has found that people with more frequent headaches often report higher stress levels, lower activity levels, and lower overall quality of life.

Sometimes headaches are a sign your body needs a break, movement, or help reducing muscle tension.

Does your shoulder feel tight when you rotate your arm? πŸ€”πŸ

You might have something called GIRD, which stands for glenohumeral internal rotation deficit. It means the shoulder has limited inward rotation.

This is common among overhead athletes, such as baseball, tennis, and volleyball players. Repeated overhead motion can tighten the back of the shoulder and limit rotation.

A recent study found that stretching the back of the shoulder may help improve rotation and reduce discomfort.

Call our clinic to schedule an appointment if shoulder tightness or pain is limiting your overhead movement.

You don't have to lose consciousness to have a concussion after a car accident. πŸ’‘ Most people who sustain one never black out at all.

The signs are often subtle β€” and easy to dismiss. Persistent headaches, sensitivity to light or noise, and difficulty concentrating are three of the most common indicators that your brain needs expert attention, not just rest.

Swipe through for the full list β€” and tag someone who's been in a recent accident so they know what to watch for.

Kids today can use a tablet faster than they can find the TV remote πŸ“±πŸ˜„

But too much screen time may not be great for their backs.

Research has found that more screen time is linked with a higher chance of lower back pain in kids and teens.

Encouraging kids to take breaks, move more, and play outside can help keep their bodies healthy πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Many workplace injuries don’t happen all at once.

Repetitive movements, long hours at a desk, heavy lifting, or physically demanding tasks can gradually strain muscles, joints, and connective tissues. Over time, this stress can lead to persistent back pain, neck tension, shoulder discomfort, or headaches.

Ignoring these early warning signs can allow small issues to develop into more serious injuries that affect your ability to work and move comfortably.

At NWIC, we help patients recover from work-related injuries with targeted treatment plans focused on restoring function, reducing pain, and supporting a safe return to daily activities.

Have you ever noticed pain building up during your workday? You’re not alone.
