Do you know only 1 in 10 Americans eat the recommended daily amount of fruits & veggies?
What’s up with that?
We have access to fruits & veggies literally year round! And yet, we don’t know what to do with them. We don’t have time to cook them. We’ve never learned to like them. We’ve developed palates that prefer sweet and sugary over all else.
And yet, when clients come to me with hormone imbalances, gut dysbiosis, anxiety overload, and a whole host of symptoms of dis-ease, we start with the basics: increase intake of plants. It sounds so simple.
This simple, savory breakfast includes 2 of my day’s fruit & veggies - they were SO yummy! In season broccoli (yes, broccoli has a season) and fresh figs. Pasture-raised eggs. Crème fraîche (yogurt will do the trick) mixed with a drizzle of bourbon-infused maple syrup. Butter from pasture-raised cows. Pink salt. That’s it. Another 8-minute meal with tons of flavor, color, textures, and nutrients.
So, how does your fruit & veggie intake measure up? What are your physical symptoms trying to tell you? What will it take for you to invest time and energy into establishing different eating habits? We have this one, precious life and this one, incredible body. Without our wellbeing, everything else is more challenging.
