A New Kind of Freedom

Wesley has been a resident at Waters Edge since 2022 and has used a Broda chair since admission. Recently, the Director of Rehabilitation saw an opportunity for him to gain more independence with his mobility.

Wesley officially received his temps with his power chair and is now learning to navigate with the support of therapy, staff, and his mom. This new level of mobility has opened up exciting possibilities for him.

He enjoys his newfound freedom and always has a big smile when therapy comes to take him for a drive.

Stories like Wesley’s show how therapy can create independence, confidence, and joy.

Today at Waters Edge, our residents brought the spirit of New Orleans to life! From a lively parade through the halls to colorful beads and big smiles all around, the energy was contagious.

Stronger, Steadier, and Headed Home

Ricky came to Waters Edge with a history of falls and a goal to improve his strength and balance. Through physical and occupational therapy, he learned important balance strategies and gained strength in his legs, arms, and core.

With his progress, Ricky is now preparing to return home this week with continued PT and OT services to support his recovery.

His hard work and dedication have helped him regain confidence and stability, bringing him one step closer to independent living.
