Your haven for healing. Proud veteran-owned business. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Offering services in WI & IL Many blessings to you, my friends. Namaste.

I created SageHaven as a means to share my intuitive healing with others who seek balance between body, mind, and spirit. My background as a Certified Qigong Trainer, Reiki Master Teacher, and Registered Yoga Teacher offers my clients a unique experience, certain to create a sense of well-being that remains long after their session ends. My interest in holistic practices grew increasingly strong a

fter I injured my neck in a military accident and underwent a 2-level spinal fusion. The combination of pain medications and continuous physical therapy left me searching for alternatives that treated not only the physical body, but the emotional state as well. Sharing my experience with other Veterans made me realize how many people are themselves seeking a less conventional, but more effective, path to wellness. The goal in my practice is for each client to leave their session feeling balanced, content and peaceful. My greatest joy is using my skills as a healer to educate others along this beautiful path of life.

Mindfulness

While there are many explanations for mindfulness, in DBT we focus on being present and living in the NOW.

The "How" skill is an important part of practicing mindfulness in DBT.

Emotional Regulation

Emotions are important because they give us information about our environment and our experience. Goals for ER include:

* Naming our emotions
* Understanding our emotions
* Decreasing the frequency of unpleasant emotions

A helpful Emotional Regulation skill is STOP:

* S-Stay in control & do not react
* T-Take a step back and do not allow your emotions to control what you do

Distress Tolerance

Your ability to perceive your environment as it is, without demanding that it be different, is known as Distress Tolerance.

Pain + Non-Acceptance = Suffering

Pain + Acceptance = Ordinary Pain

A helpful Distress Tolerance skill is Radical Acceptance, which is the complete and total acceptance of reality. Accepting the reality of a situation in your body, heart, and mind allows you to stop fighting against reality and accept it.

* Rejecting reality does not change it
* Pain cannot be avoided
* Limitations about the future exist
* Life is worth living
* Everything has a cause

What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapeutic modality that teaches us how to improve our relationships with those around us by managing intense emotions.

While originally developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and suicidal behaviors, DBT is effective in treating individuals diagnosed with:

* Anxiety
* Bipolar Disorder
* Depression
* Eating Disorders
* Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
* Substance Use Disorders

This week we'll be exploring the 4 core modules of DBT:

* Distress Tolerance
* Emotional Regulation
* Interpersonal Effectiveness
* Mindfulness

As another weekend comes to an end, it's the perfect time to take a few moments to think about what you'd like to accomplish this week and set some intentions. Setting goals provides us with a sense of purpose, which is essential for both our mental and physical health.

Hello, my dear friends,

Do you sometimes catch yourself in a negative self-thought or belief?

This is so wonderful, because the first step to changing your thoughts to more positive thoughts is AWARENESS.

Learning to align your thinking with positive and healing thoughts can be life-changing!

Our minds are always focused on something, good or bad. So, how do we bring this constant stream of thoughts to a halt?

That is the beauty of Chanting.
Chanting gives you something to focus on while you’re meditating, which is similar to your thoughts coming to a halt.

When you use chanting during meditation, your brain directs its focus to the chant. Then, there is no more space for unconscious thoughts or negative self-beliefs to sneak into your body, mind, or spirit. It is just that simple.

When you BECOME AWARE of what you are hearing in that moment, you begin to collect the energy inside of you by bring the energy back to your body.

Once you bring the energy back to your body, by noticing what you are hearing, you then begin the FEEL what you are hearing.

When this happens, you begin to put the conscious and subconscious mind together; this combination is what Buddha and the Taoist call- the Heart. When you put together the conscious and subconscious mind you activate 100% of the energy inside you to help with anything that you’re doing at that moment. When you FEEL what you are hearing in this moment, the serenity comes to your heart and to your body.

Then, once you feel the sounds going on all around you, you then begin to notice that they all have a vibration, a frequency. They all have a light. In this light frequency you break through the material form of life and get into the transformation, into spirituality, you understand the connection between you and the Divine.

The most important thing to remember when chanting is about your feeling, about your heart. Do you really love it? Do you really connect yourself with sound?

Many Blessings,
Chunyi Lin

Om Namah Shivaya

This mantra is one of our favorites for developing an understanding of our inner selves and encouraging spiritual growth.

By chanting Om Namah Shivaya 108 times, we connect to divine energy, which assists us in balancing our energy and removing any obstacles along our spiritual path.

May you experience contentment, joy, and peace this blessed Diwali.

Autumn is the time to focus on building qi in the lungs and large intestine, strengthening our immune systems, and conserving our energy as we move closer to the cold winter months. πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ§‘β€οΈ

Just as trees drop their leaves this time of year, you too should drop anything that no longer brings you joy. Unresolved grief blocks energy in the lungs and large intestine, leading to colds, coughs, intestinal problems, and shortness of breath.

Practicing 5 elements qigong is one of the best ways to maintain the energetic balance within your body.
