📢 Giving Back to Our Community! ❤️🚗🍽️

Our very own Jan Sandalow and her sister Jill joined the Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. for their March for Meals event on Tuesday, March 18th!

Jan (right) teamed up with fellow Meals on Wheels volunteers Penny (left) and Barb (middle) to deliver meals and brighten the day of local seniors. Barb drove while Jan and Penny personally handed out meals, taking time to chat and connect with each client.

A huge thank you to these amazing volunteers for making a difference in our community! 💙👏

This morning, Greg Pawell from Kenosha Community Health Center & Pillar Health volunteered with Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. March for Meals Week, helping deliver nutritious meals and much-needed connection to local seniors. 💜🍽️

At KCHC & Pillar Health, we believe in caring for our community—inside and outside the clinic. Access to food and social support is essential to overall health, and we’re proud to stand with Meals on Wheels to fight senior hunger and isolation in Kenosha County.

In honor of Heart Month, the KCHC/Pillar Health Clinic was busy advocating for heart-healthy activities and even raised funds for the American Heart Association.

A special thanks to pediatric provider Jen Eppinger, CPNP-PC, for her leadership in creating innovative and engaging activities to celebrate Heart Month. Jen is pictured handing the AHA donation to Dr. Tim Sanborn, Chief Clinical Officer.

Today, several members of the Kenosha Bradford High School Student Government Association visited Pillar Health to distribute gift bags to nurses, support staff, and providers as part of a service project aimed at recognizing local community health workers!

We are so grateful to Samantha Margetson, Executive President and niece of Tracy Margetson, NP, along with her fellow student government representatives, including Sara Realopez, Brianna Gaspar, Aimie Gorman, Allyanna Hernandez, and Aliyah Barlow, for their thoughtful gesture and outstanding leadership.

🚭 Kick the Habit for Good! 🚭

As of 2024, smoking rates in the U.S. have dropped to historic lows—only 11% of adults report smoking, a huge decrease from 41% in 1944. And among adults under 30, smoking rates have plummeted from 35% in the early 2000s to just 6%! But as cigarette use declines, e-cigarette use has risen, with about 18% of adults under 30 now va**ng.

Pillar Health, a division of Kenosha Community Health Center, is honored to join the City of Racine, Wisconsin Government’s vision for expanded community healthcare as a key partner in the soon-to-be-built Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. This $68 million project, located near Julian Thomas Elementary School, will house Racine’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and will be Pillar Health’s second dedicated location.

Set to open in late 2026, the center will provide accessible, affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health services, supporting over 24,000 residents and addressing Racine's healthcare needs with culturally sensitive, bilingual care.
