One of my favorite hoomans is going to be the Bat Girl for the Kenosha Kingfish on Wednesday, August 6 at 6:35 PM at Historic Simmons Field!

My Gabby girl is one of the kindest and bravest people I know, and she is a HUUUUUUUUUGE baseball fan. I’m SO proud of her. The Piasecki Funeral Home family will be there cheering her on and I hope you will be too.

I’m not sure when the tryouts for Bat DOG are being held but, until then, I’ll learn a few pointers from my girl.

Tell your friends, your grandma, your mail carrier…. and let’s pack the stands and make Gabby feel all the love this community has to offer 🖤🐾

I have exciting news to share (and no, it’s not that I found an extra treat under the couch again... although that was a good day too 🦴).

We’re hiring! That’s right, my family at Piasecki Funeral Home is looking for a Wisconsin Licensed Funeral Director Apprentice to join our incredible team. And let me tell you, this team... They’re the best!!! Like, belly-rubs-during-lunch-breaks and zoomies-after-hours kind of best.

Every day, I get to see how much love, compassion, and support they show the families we serve, and me too, of course. I mean, I’ve made over 400 visits as a therapy dog (that’s a lot of tail wags!), and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

Remember Zuzu in “It’s a Wonderful Life,”…

“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings.”

Lately, that line has taken on a whole new meaning.

My sister, K9 Tesla, was the definition of comfort, calm, and peaceful connection for so many, and her passing has left a hole in our hearts that words, barks, or woofs can’t quite fill.

Her keychain in our truck hangs around the shift lever, and every time my dad puts it in drive, it jingles softly. It’s such a small sound, but every time I hear it, I think of my sissy. It’s as if she’s still riding along with us, reminding us to keep going, to serve with heart, and to be there for others just like she always was.

That gentle jingle is our “bell” 🔔 and in those moments, I like to think that somewhere, K9 Tesla is getting her wings all over again. 🐾🖤🪽
