November 11th is always a special day for us as we are able to be a part of honoring our residents who are veterans and those whose loved ones served our country. A special thank you to Alliance & Hospice Alliance Foundation for leading the beautiful ceremony on this 11th month, on the 11th day at the 11th hour, that included song, prayer, stories from our residents, and gratitude. Our military veteran residents are: Bill N. (Army), Ed (Navy), Tom (Army), Bill P. (Navy), Dennis (Marines) and Gordon (Army Reserve).❤️The spouses of veterans in our community are too many to mention but we also acknowledged their contributions as military wives.❤️ We were grateful for the photos our residents, families, and staff brought in to showcase those who served this country. For every one of our veterans, and for those veterans reading this, we thank you for your service. 🇺🇸

We have a calming recommendation for you on how to spend today’s Feel Good Friday. Indulge in some self-care that you well deserve. Look no further than some of our Library Terrace ladies to see how it’s done. A darkened room, soothing music, aromatherapy, eye masks, hand massages, lotions, and more that invite a sense of peace. Our Library Terrace “spa attendants” pampered each lady and everyone left feeling tranquil, renewed, and blissful. Ahhhh… that feels good.

Our caregivers… the heart and soul of Library Terrace. They not only care for our residents but become friends and confidants. Each year the Kenosha Long Term Care Workforce Alliance recognizes professional caregivers and this year representing Library Terrace at the 34th annual Caregivers Recognition Luncheon with the theme, “You Are Our SuperHeroes!,” was (from left) Becky, Jenney, Gert, Deborah, and Jenney accompanied by Library Terrace Nurse Lisa P., RN. We couldn’t be prouder to see these amazing ladies celebrated!👏👏👏👏 Held at Casa Capri, Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala (pictured in the middle with our caregivers) presented each caregiver with a certificate. Then before the event ended, there was the winning of door prizes and you can see, some of our caregivers did not leave empty handed! We’d also like to shout out our own THANK YOU to all of our caregiver ladies and gentleman of Library Terrace who truly put the heart into caring. Every one of us at Library Terrace appreciate you so much.❤️

It was a whirlwind week for us with two big things to celebrate last week: (1) at the beginning of the week our win as #1 Best Assisted Living in Kenosha County, and then (2,) the days leading up to Halloween! After our #1 announcement on Monday, we made sure we showed our appreciation of staff with the universal language of snackage. Each day, from savory to sweet, we made sure our staff knew we were thinking of them by giving them yummy treats. But that wasn’t all as residents and staff alike enjoyed a week full of Halloween fun. From pumpkin decorating (see November 1st post) to costumes (and more). Enjoy a look at many of the spooky, sweet, and fun costumes sported by so many. Bwaa haa haa

From now through November 30th, we’re collecting much needed non-perishable food and personal care items to help stock the shelves at Shalom Center, an organization providing essential resources to individuals and families in our community. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm for donating dozens of pumpkins for residents and staff to decorate for the Halloween season🎃. It was messy artistic🎨fun and the designs ranged from simple and sweet to WOW! Voting by all residents and staff took place and there were two winners who each took home a wonderful gift basket also donated by Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm. Drum roll please! With her black cat design, our HR Coordinator Christa took first🏆along with Caregiver Lorena who also placed first🏆with her senior in curlers design. With more than 40 entries, enjoy a few of what is currently brightening✨ our community!
