There are many benefits about my small clinic that have surprised people recently...
- Yesterday evening (Sunday) I received a call from a patient to schedule her family member for a glasses prescription check. Even though it was Sunday evening, I was able to call her back, get the needed info, answer all questions, and schedule the appointment. I was also able to let her know that since the family member is seen by a specialist in town for medical reasons- I wouldn't have to repeat the exam (which saves them time and money).
- Just recently, an established patient texted me some concerns about an eye issue. After discussing it with them it was determined an office visit wasn't needed, and over the counter treatment was suggested with the expectation they'd come in if it wasn't improving. This saved the patient time and money - and allowed them to start the needed OTC treatment right away instead of waiting days to be seen.
- Just a couple weeks ago, I had an established patient that was preparing for an overseas trip. The patient was concerned about not having access to an eye medication if the need were to arise. So I was able to get them in for a visit the next day, and I had samples of the medication (and OTC samples of different drops) to send with them on their vacation. I told them they've got 24-7 DIRECT access to me as an established patient.
I could go on (Patient seen in person on Memorial Day Weekend - sunday evening, opening at 7am for people that can't get off work for exams, delivering contact lenses to a patient at her office), the point is this: I'm here to take care of your needs. I promise I won't treat you like an insurance patient (because I'm not in network with insurance - but I can still accept HSA/FSA). I want to provide the level of service you deserve!
