Time for another shoutout from the Racine Aging and Disability Resource Center Special Needs Fair!

I connected with Speaking Life Speech Therapy & Wellness. They
prioritize a holistic, root-cause approach to speech therapy, going far beyond traditional training to look at how a person's overall development and environment can impact their voice. It’s excellent that their Mount Pleasant clinic is equipped to support the whole family, serving both children and adults.

My clinic operates on a similar belief that you can't rush through an exam and expect to understand the whole patient.

If you are a parent looking for deeper insights, their speech-language pathologist, Elyse Scheeler, hosts a wonderful podcast called "Speaking Life Into Motherhood." In it, Elyse offers genuine encouragement and real-life advice to help exhausted moms raising kids with special needs find a path to thriving.

BeLEAF Survivors, Inc. provides a safe space and necessary advocacy for healing after trauma through their focused support programs. Learning more about their work to build a culture of consent is incredibly important.

I founded my own clinic to solve a parallel problem. I wanted to offer a quiet, safe space where patients never feel like a burden to a clinic's busy schedule, especially when navigating complex or stressful situations.

I had fun connecting with Annabell, their Co-Director of Programs at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Racine Special Needs fair. She really made those glasses work!

I’ve learned a lot about how Sonnenberg Schools provide special education in a fully inclusive, K through 12 environment. Their priority is on helping students identify and cultivate their unique gifts!

It was great connecting with their team at the 2026 Aging and Disability Resource Center of Racine County Special Needs Resource Fair to discuss how personalized, specialized care benefits our community across both Kenosha and Racine.

It was great connecting with Tim Hess from Adaptive Training & Fitness at the Aging and Disability Resource Center Special Needs Fair recently.

I learned a lot about how they make wellness accessible for those with special needs. Their approach to building confidence, improving mobility, and helping clients achieve unique fitness goals is wonderful for our area.

I’m proud to support my small business neighbors who provide quality, specialized care!

Start the countdown! Less than 24 hours until Enlightened Eye Care is at Burlington High School for the Racine County / ADRC Special Needs Resource Fair. Graham Keith will be set up to share information about specialty glasses lenses and about the unique 1-on-1 care that his clinic is able to provide in downtown Kenosha.

Today I got the opportunity to listen to a wonderful health and wellness presentation from Dr. Jenna Saul (Empower Mental Health And Wellness Clinic, Kenosha). She spoke to a packed room at the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce about the brain/body effects of burnout and stress. She shared some great practical tips and she also informed the group about specialty equipment she has at her Kenosha Clinic (equipment that I've had performed on myself - and very successfully I may add).

She had a great slide that pointed out when it is time for someone to reach out for help. This doesn't necessarily have to be the patient reaching out - it could be the loved one of the patient. I do hope she'll share a brief recap including that slide.

I’ve been fascinated with art inspired by ocular anatomy to the point where I recently drove to Iowa City to pick up a top of the line photographer’s “slitlamp biomicroscope”.

I’m also learning new techniques for image processing that will yield some amazing pieces of personalized “Living Art”.

I hope to refine the process even further and offer these beautiful creations to patients!

The photo shows a magnified view of the iris and pupil transformed into cosmic living art. The radial iris fibers are reminiscent of expanding energy from a centralized point of focus.
