Okay… real talk for a second. 💬
You can do all the “right” things… and still feel stuck.
😮‍💨 Breathing exercises
😮‍💨 Clean eating
😮‍💨 Supplements
And yet the anxiety, tension, meltdowns, or exhaustion keep circling back.
Here’s why that happens more often than anyone admits:
You can’t regulate a nervous system that first needs repair.
Once the nervous system is functioning better, all those things you’ve already been trying finally start to stick. If this made you nod your head… you are in the right place 🧡

76.4% of adults report living with a chronic health condition.
That’s nearly 3 out of 4 adults. 😔
And for many parents, it looks like this day after day:
✔️ Poor sleep – trouble falling or staying asleep
✔️ Digestive issues – bloating, reflux, constipation, discomfort
✔️ Exhaustion + brain fog – always tired, hard to focus
✔️ Inflammation or frequent illness – feeling run down more often than not
✔️ Chronic stress + anxiety – always “on,” overwhelmed, impatient
Parents today have more information and more natural options than ever before.
What we’ve learned is this: 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.
When it’s stuck in survival mode, the body struggles to rest, repair, and adapt, even when you’re doing “all the right things.”
Supporting the nervous system first often changes how everything else works. Energy improves. Stress feels more manageable. Life starts to feel lighter again.

So often when pregnancy isn’t happening after a long time of trying, people begin to wrestle with feeling like a failure or feeling like their body is failing them. I’d like to give you a few things to consider, if this is the case for you.

1. There is always something to be grateful for. It is well known that neurologically we cannot be in a state of appreciation and fear at the same time. When you start to fear the worst, make an effort to switch your thoughts towards something you are thankful for, to break the cycle of worry. One of the challenges of being on a journey with fertility is the worry that comes along with it. The more you can consciously switch your brain out of that state, the better. Perhaps it can be something as simple as a cup of coffee you’re thankful for or something deeper like that gratitude for the love you and your partner have for each other—that is so great it has led you to being in a place of wanting to start a family with that person.

2. Remember that your body is extremely intelligent. Just because you have challenges happening with your body doesn’t mean it is broken. It is actually trying to use symptoms as signals to tell you what it needs. Also, just because the medical system hasn’t been able to identify what your body needs doesn’t mean the answer it isn’t there. One of the beautiful things about what we do here at Sozo is the way we focus on helping people more towards health. We call this Salutogenesis, which is the study of health and well-being. It brings about different questions to ask which leads to different solutions. In comparison, the medical model of healthcare is built on pathogenesis, which is the study of disease.

3. Please remember that you’re worth is greater than your ability to have a baby. Your fertility does not define you. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the desire to have a baby that it becomes your identity or the identity you want to have. Having a clear understanding of who you are as an individual is important for your own mental health while on a journey to become a parent and when you are a parent. Working on this now will serve you well in the future.

Our Story

~ Dr. Davis founded Sozo Chiropractic in 2014. She is a Kenosha native. She graduated cm laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic after receiving her undergraduate degree from UW- Parkside. She is certified in both nutrition and the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a specific method of analysis and adjusting for women during pregnancy to allow optimal positioning of the baby. Dr. Davis is passionate about educating the community about the multitude of health benefits that Chiropractic care can bring to every member of the family.

~ Dr. Punita’s road to Sozo is an adventurous one! She was born in India and moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland at the age of 8. Dr. Punita went on to earn her doctorate in chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 2007. Dr. Punita is very passionate about chiropractic and the well being of each and every one of her patients. She takes great joy in helping every patient with an emphasis on guiding them to take a healthier and physically more productive path through their journey in life.

~ After a sports injury that could’ve ended her softball career, Dr. Shelby sought out the help of a chiropractor. After returning to play only a month after the injury, Dr. Shelby shadowed and explored chiropractic. Chiropractic offices were so inviting and felt like a family. While off for the summers in college, she spent time interning at offices and felt that the chiropractic life was the one for her. That is where she found her passion for families and especially kids. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Shelby received her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She then continued her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in February of 2020. Her passion is working with kids of all ages and their families. She is moved to Kenosha with her husband, Aaron after getting married in June.
