🕰️ Way Back Wednesday 🐦

This Victorian birdcage is estimated to date back to the late 1800s — around 1880–1905 — when apparently people thought, “You know what this bird needs? A mansion.” 😄

Complete with cathedral roofs, hand-carved details, balconies, and enough architectural flair to make modern apartments jealous, this wasn’t just a birdcage… it was a status symbol.

Meanwhile today, most of us are still trying to keep one houseplant alive. 🌱

This beautiful piece was gifted to us by our friend Beth from Strobbe’s Flower Cart when she retired, which makes it even more special to us. ❤️

The craftsmanship is incredible up close. No assembly line. No particle board. Just old-school artistry and patience.

Honestly, if this thing had plumbing, Zillow would probably list it for $450,000. 🏡🐤

🧼 Update: the soap has developed a following.

Our Perennial soap bars were the top seller this past week… which feels aggressive for a product whose main job is just “be soap.”

Somehow people try one and immediately become loyal. Like… “I didn’t know I had strong opinions about soap, but here we are.”

We keep hearing the same things: it smells really good without punching you in the face, it doesn’t leave your skin dry, and it makes your shower feel like you’ve got your life together… even if the rest of the day says otherwise 😅

Also, important pattern we’ve noticed… no one buys just one. There’s always a return trip. Always.

First… don’t panic. And skip the internet hacks 😅
(No burning, twisting, or covering it in random stuff.)

If you’ve got a Tick Key, here’s the right way to use it 👇

🔑 Step 1: Place the key on the skin
Slide the slot over the tick and position it as close to the skin as possible

🔑 Step 2: Slide along the skin
Gently slide the key forward against the skin to trap the tick in the slot

🔑 Step 3: Remove the tick
Continue sliding until the tick fully detaches

💡 Why this matters:
Using the right technique helps remove the tick cleanly without squeezing or breaking it.

🐶 Yes, this works on pets too
Because unfortunately, they find ticks first 🤢

Today is personal.

This is my step-dad, John Sorensen, who served our country and later passed away from lung cancer related to his service.

In this photo, he’s standing in his front yard playing Taps as part of Taps Across America, a nationwide tribute where musicians step outside at 3 PM on Memorial Day to play Taps in honor of those who gave their lives in service.

Memorial Day is not just a long weekend. It’s about real people, real sacrifice, and the moments we take to honor them.

We remember. ❤️

Our pharmacy is closed today in observance of Memorial Day, and we will reopen Tuesday at 9AM.

🕵️‍♂️ Happy National Scavenger Hunt Day!

Plot twist… we’re closed today as we are every Sunday 😄 BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t play along. If you’re out and about in town, take a stroll and peek through some windows 👀 including ours. We’ve got all kinds of interesting things tucked around the pharmacy… and we’re guessing we’re not the only ones.

🔍 Your challenge: Complete at least 3 of these while exploring local businesses:
• Find something that makes you laugh
• Find something you’d gift to a friend
• Find something you’ve never noticed before

Pasture Potion is officially restocked.

If you’ve never tried it, this is our beef tallow face cream made with lavender, geranium, and frankincense… and it’s one of those products that surprises people in the best way.

🌿 Let’s be honest… most of us are not out here eating perfectly balanced meals every single day 😅

A gentle reminder that your skin is not meant to be:
• crispy
• medium rare
• or “I’ll deal with it later”

We see you. We’ve all said:
“I’ll only be outside for a minute.”

…and then suddenly it’s 3 hours, you’re slightly sunburned, and questioning your life choices.

Today’s goal:
**Don’t fry. Just exist responsibly in the sun.**

✔️ SPF before you leave
✔️ reapply (yes, even if you forgot the first time)
✔️ lips too — they burn faster than your patience

🌿 So… this happened over the weekend.

I’m petting my dog, feeling like a responsible adult, enjoying the moment… and then I feel something. I look closer… and yep. A TICK. On my dog. EWWW. 🤢

Nothing like a tiny parasite to really humble you.

Immediate regret for every time I thought, “we’ll probably be fine without bug spray.”
Spoiler: we were not fine.

Honestly, I was so grossed out I instantly decided we needed better options in the pharmacy… for my own house if nothing else 😅

So now we’re stocked up, and I’m officially a “never again” person:

• SQUITO BAN 🦟 keeps mosquitoes from turning you into their weekend plans
• TICK BAN 🕷️ helps keep ticks off and you can use it on your dog too 🐶🙌
• Tick Key because apparently I now like being prepared for things I never wanted to experience

Real talk, this isn’t just a deep woods problem. Backyard, walks, bike rides… ticks are out here living their best life. Unfortunately.

Lesson learned, a quick spray before heading outside is a lot better than discovering something uninvited later.

We’ve got these up front now. Originally for me… but if you’d like to avoid your own “character building moment,” I highly recommend 😬
