A beautiful afternoon filled with music and connection

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Lakeview Chamber Players to our community, where residents enjoyed a live performance featuring everything from baroque to contemporary works.

The room was filled with music, smiles, and shared moments that made the experience truly special.

If you could attend a live performance like this, what kind of music would you choose?

We are so grateful to the Lakeview Chamber Players for sharing their time and talent with us.

Small actions, big impact

Following Earth Day, our residents spent time giving back, helping clean up the surrounding neighborhood and care for the community they call home.

It is always inspiring to see the pride and purpose our residents bring to moments like these.

What is one small way you like to give back to your community?

What does a life of kindness look like?

This April, for Volunteer Appreciation Month, we are honored to spotlight Peggy, one of our incredible residents whose life has been defined by compassion, courage, and care for others.

For over 10 years, Peggy volunteered with Meals on Wheels, building real relationships with the seniors she served. She checked in during storms, offered extra support when it was needed, and made sure no one felt alone.

Her love did not stop there! Peggy also opened her heart and home to senior dogs in need, especially those with medical challenges, giving them comfort, safety, and unconditional love.

Even today, that same spirit shines through. She continues to look out for others around her, always ready to help.

Her family describes her best:
“Her big heart, incredible intellect, and unconditional selflessness.”

We would love to hear from you
What is one small act of kindness that has stayed with you?
Or tag someone who reminds you of Peggy.

Final week of International Food & Wine Month!

Our Culinary Passport landed in West Africa this week, where residents at Modena Reserve Kensington enjoyed a rich West African stew, full of bold flavors and comforting traditions.

Team member Hemayeth was happy to pose with the dish, showing how much our staff enjoyed bringing these global flavors to life.

This Women’s History Month, we honor Lorraine, a woman whose story reminds us that empowerment isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s found in the way you live, love, and grow.

Lorraine gently turns the pages of her photo album, each image holding a story of a life built on love, resilience, and quiet strength.

She was a young girl when the world changed during WWII, growing up with a deep sense of independence, curiosity, and compassion. These values were shaped by her parents and carried through every chapter of life.

Years later, she built a beautiful life of her own: a 49-year marriage, 10 children, 23 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. A legacy not just of family, but of presence, patience, and purpose.

“Every day was an adventure,” she says with a smile.

And she means it, from raising her children to later traveling the world, embracing each day with curiosity.

To Lorraine, strength was never about standing still. “Strength is being flexible and adaptable… willing to change with the times.”

Cheers to connection and maybe a little extra luck this season. ☘️

Our St. Patrick’s Day Happy Hour brought residents together for festive drinks, great conversation, and plenty of Irish cheer. A special guest musician filled the room with lively fiddle tunes.

Fun fact: Did you know the Irish Washerwoman Jig actually has lyrics?

Our culinary passport brings us to El Salvador this week.

Food & Wine Around the World Month continues at Modena Reserve Kensington, bringing new international flavors to the table each week.

This week, Chef Douglas, who is from El Salvador, shared a taste of his home country with residents. The menu featured traditional corn tortilla pupusas filled with pork and cheese, served with Salvadoran-style pickled coleslaw (curtido) and tomato salsa.

Food is a wonderful way to experience different cultures, and it’s always special when our culinary team can share dishes that are meaningful to them.

Have you ever tried pupusas before?
