Seeking Fun-Loving Man for Community Living Group Home (Silver Spring)

This affordable and accessible community living group home in Silver Spring is the home of two fun-loving men in their 40s. After the passing of their longtime housemate, they are now ready to welcome a new friend to their home. Their home recently received a glow-up from volunteer group Rebuilding Together Montgomery County.

David joined Jubilee 12 years ago and now serves as president of Jubilee’s Client Council. He and Louis quickly bonded over their love of sports when Louis moved into the home in 2024. David shares that they would like a new housemate that matches their energy and interests, which include outings to restaurants, the movies, and the mall. “Most of all someone who loves karaoke as much as we do!” says David. “We’d like to live with someone social so we can all go to Jubilee events together.”

Seeking Independent Woman for Community Living Group Home in Silver Spring.

Lisa lives on the lower level of the home. She says that she is looking for a housemate who is “well-rounded and independent like me. There’s a nice strip mall with shops near the house that I like to walk or bike to. I’m a quiet person. If we’re both home at the same time, I like the idea of eating meals together or going for a walk together sometimes.”

This affordable and accessible group home in the Kemp Mill neighborhood of Silver Spring may have up to four female housemates. There are three upstairs bedrooms with a shared wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Jubilee direct support professionals provide care and do not live in the home.

🎉Congratulations to our April Shining Star Romuald! A direct support professional with Jubilee since 2012, Romuald supports Michael, Matthew, and Bill at a Jubilee community living group home.

🏆He achieved DSP II certification, which is a rigorous advanced training course for support professionals. Most recently, Romuald advocated for the disability community and the DSP profession in Annapolis, calling for the state to fairly fund disability services.

👉He was nominated for the Shining Star award by Michael’s sister. She highlighted Romuald’s effort going above and beyond to help Michael get a passport so he could attend a family trip to Niagara Falls as an example of “how great Romuald is.”

Today we celebrate Word Down Syndrome day! Self-advocate Sarah Glenner shares: “I have Down syndrome. I was born with it. It is part of who I am and people shouldn't assume that I can't do things because I have a disability. Sometimes people need support but they also have gifts that they can share with people around them. Gifts like hugs, encouragement, enthusiasm, and laughter. "

Celebrating uniqueness, inclusion, and acceptance. Different is beautiful. 💙💛
