MOCO Movement Center

MOCO Movement Center MOCO strives to keep the environments as fun and natural to each participant as what they would choose to do during their own free time.

https://linktr.ee/mocomovementcenter We have so many different services to offer! Applied Functional Therapy™
MOCO Movement Center takes pediatric therapy (Occupational, Physical, and Speech) out of the clinic and into the real world. With a synthetic ice rink, climbing wall, obstacle courses and professional musical studio, our modern facility has something for everyone! Movement & Play-Based Cla

sses

Our classes build strength, coordination, balance, and confidence through purposeful play. Children explore obstacle courses, climbing elements, balance challenges, trampolines, and suspended equipment — all designed to support physical and developmental growth in a fun, supportive environment. Classes include:
• Caregiver–child classes
• Preschool and school-age movement classes
• Gymnastics foundations
• Infant Massage

Skill Builders Programs

Skill Builders are small-group programs focused on developing specific functional, social, and motor skills in a structured yet playful setting. These programs bridge the gap between therapy and recreation with clear goals and real-world application. Current & upcoming Skill Builders include: (Launching 2026)
• Recess Ready: Four Square: building playground confidence, game skills, turn-taking, and peer interaction
• Skill Builders: Get Crafty: supporting fine motor skills, planning, creativity, and task completion
• Skill Builders: Agility Academy: focused on speed, coordination, body control, and athletic readiness

Learn-to-Ride Bike Intensives

MOCO’s Bike Riding Intensives use a proven balance-first approach to help children learn to ride independently. Programs are individualized, confidence-building, and led by experienced staff who understand motor learning and child development. Summer Adventure Program

Our half-day Summer Adventure Program for children ages 5-10 blends movement, obstacle courses, cooperative games, and themed activities in MOCO’s dynamic facility. Small groups and intentional programming support strength, coordination, confidence, and social engagement, all while having fun. Caregiver Education & Community Programs

We also offer caregiver education sessions, workshops, and community-based programming designed to support families beyond traditional therapy and classes.

We love showing up for our community 💚

Our team was out supporting autism acceptance and celebrating the incredible work of Ethiopian Eritrean Special Needs Community EESNC

Thank you to Wil Jawando for your continued support of families and inclusive communities.
This is what it’s all about—connection, movement, and belonging.

Every other week, our Build Team redesigns our obstacle course from the ground up.

Why? Because kids thrive on novelty AND progress.

The first time through, everything feels exciting and new.

By the next round, they’re more confident and ready to take risks, go farther, and try things they avoided before.

And behind the scenes, our therapists are watching closely, so the next build can support the exact skills that are emerging.

Stay tuned… next up: the rebuild 👀

Every child develops at their own pace, but sometimes extra support can help build confidence and skills.

Early help can support movement, communication, and play development during the most important early years.

If you have questions about your child’s development, we’re here to help.

Not every camp is the right fit for every child, and that’s okay.

Our Summer Adventure is designed for kids who benefit from smaller groups, movement-based learning, and a little extra support building confidence with peers.

The goal isn’t just fun (though there’s plenty of that 😉)… it’s real growth.

Spots are limited each week.

"Why do therapists LOVE swings?

Because they do WAY more than calm kids down 👇

Swings help with:
• Balance + vestibular processing
• Core strength
• Body awareness
• Regulation
• Attention + focus

And when we add games…
➡️ we build communication
➡️ social skills
➡️ problem solving

It’s not “just swinging”
It’s full-body learning."

What looks like a simple step is actually building the foundation for independent movement.

In this moment, we’re working on balance, strength, and confidence—so this child can move through their world more independently.

At MOCO Movement Center, we focus on functional, play-based therapy that connects directly to real-life skills.

💚 Every step has a purpose.

At MOCO, we often support children in building the foundations—motor skills, confidence, communication.

But we know families are also thinking ahead:

*What does independence look like later?

*What are the real options after high school?

Our friends at Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County are hosting a free parent discussion focused on exactly that.
If you have questions about transition to adulthood, this is a great place to start.

Parents often have questions about how transitioning youth can take the next steps toward a full life after high school. They may wonder about post-secondary education, employment opportunities, available support, how the process works, what employers think, and whether college is a realistic option. Join us for a lively discussion of your questions and concerns.

Speakers:
Nancy Forsythe, DSNMC Board President
Jen Emmel, DSNMC Transitioning Youth & Adult Manager
When: Tuesday, April 14th
Where: Zoom
Time: 7:30 PM - 9 PM
Cost: FREE

Ponentes:
Nancy Forsythe, Presidenta de la Junta de DSNMC
Jen Emmel, Gerente de Transición Juvenil y Adulta de DSNMC

Cuándo: Martes, 14 de abril
