Recently, our friends from Northcoast Jitterbug Connection came back to perform for us! It’s always a good time when they come and it gives our residents an opportunity to reminisce on their younger days. We can’t wait to have them back to preform again!

Recently, we celebrated the Dog Says of Summer, which is a 40-day stretch following summer solstice that carries the season’s peak heat. We celebrated with a dog themed pizza party! All residents received pizza, punch and a summer or dog themed party favor. Our dining room was all decked out, complete with a fun photo booth. Staff and residents all had a blast!

Last week for happy hour, we enjoyed soda and chips and then went out to check on our flowers, fruits, and veggies. Some of the residents hadn’t seen the garden since we planted them and were surprised at how much they had grown! It was the perfect way to enjoy some sunny weather.

Bingo is always a hit at our facility! Residents get to choose between a “prize buck” to use at a prize auction or a snack. We can’t wait for our next Bingo showdown!

Recently, our friends from Liberty Bible Church brought green beans in for residents to snap and prepare for cooking. The week after, they brought them back, cooked to perfection for the residents to enjoy. Everyone had a wonderful time preparing the beans and then eating them.

We sure do love it when Gerald Harris comes to visit our residents! Gerald always interacts with the residents during his performance, and they enjoy singing along with him. We can’t wait until he comes back to entertain again! 🎵

July 31st was National Mutt Day! We celebrated by inviting families and staff bring in their “mutts” to visit with residents. All of the dogs were a hit, and the residents and staff loved seeing the facility filled with furry friends. 🐾

Meet our July Employee of the Month… Amber!

Amber Miller is our receptionist and also helps out in activities. During her 2 years as a part of our team, Amber has enjoyed building relationships with the residents and watching them succeed. Her motivation to come to work every day is being able to be a part of a great team and work environment. When asked what advice she would give to new employees joining the team, Amber stated, “Smile. You never know if someone’s having a rough day. Your smile could change someone’s day.

Amber has a dog and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. A fun fact about Amber is that her favorite food is Mexican!

We are so thankful to have Amber as a part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what her future has in store for her. Congratulations, Amber! 💙

Last week, we celebrated shark week! We had an underwater photo booth, watched Shark Tale, and drank Shark-tails. We all had a fin-tastic time! 🌊🦈

Last Friday, our residents enjoyed a happy hour! Residents got chips and soda, and we played a fun and challenging game of “What am I”. There were lots of laughing and thought-provoking moments as the residents tried to figure out some riddles. Can you solve the riddle?

“I have a head and a tail that never meet. Having too many of me is always a treat. What am I?”

Recently, we had a visit from one of our repeat performers, Desmond & Molly! They are always requested by the residents, as they are such a fun duo that truly entertain everyone. They will be back in October for a 50’s themed celebration and we cannot wait!
