Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County Providing public funding for mental health and addiction treatment, 24 hour crisis services and educ

The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County funds services for Portage County residents through its network of agencies. Services help families, adults, teens and children with mental illness, depression, addictions, in crisis and at risk for su***de. The system is funded by Portage County taxpayers, along with grants and funds from the State of Ohio. Adults and families receiving services pay what they can afford, making services accessible to as many as possible. We welcome you and your comments to the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County pages. The purpose of this site is to educate and present matters of public interest. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. The Fall Portage County Crisis Intervention Team class consisted of responders from Brimfild Police, Kent Fire, Kent State Police, NEOMED Police, Ravenna Police, State Highway Patrol, Streetsboro Police, & Adult Probation. The intensive, weeklong program provided them with comprehensive instruction in de-escalation techniques, mental health awareness, and substance use disorder education and awareness of local resources.
