The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County funds services for Portage County residents through its network of agencies. Services help families, adults, teens and children with mental illness, depression, addictions, in crisis and at risk for su***de. The system is funded by Portage County taxpayers, along with grants and funds from the State of Ohio. Adults and families receiving services pay what they can afford, making services accessible to as many as possible. We welcome you and your comments to the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County pages. The purpose of this site is to educate and present matters of public interest. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. Citizen's Circle provides community based support for individuals in need of housing, jobs, recovery, or any support in Portage County. The next meeting is the holiday gathering this Thursday, Dec 18th at 3pm at Ohio Means Jobs, 253 S Chestnut in Ravenna, includes time for fellowship and a meal. Open to anyone looking for support.

Portage County Health District, UH Portage Medical Center, Kent City Health Department, and the Mental Health & Recovery Board are pleased to share the 2025 Portage County Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). This county wide collaboration provides a comprehensive look at the health status and needs of Portage County residents. The report helps health departments, hospitals, social service agencies, and community partners better understand the health needs and priorities of Portage County residents.

Children's Advantage held a Holiday party for the families which included a toy for each child, games, a ton of crafts, raffles for large items, visit with Santa, and a meal. Such a nice evening for the families!
