Because of you, the 25th Annual QMG Foundation Bridge the Gap to Health Race raised over $70,000 to help families and individuals in our community.

The proceeds from this year’s race will help Horizons Social Services purchase a new truck to increase their food rescue efforts from local businesses, helping more people facing food insecurity. Additionally, local nonprofits and schools will benefit through the Quincy Medical Group Foundation Community Impact Fund.

The QMG Foundation marked the end of the school year by awarding scholarships to local high school graduates pursuing careers in healthcare. The Dr. Michael K. Ouwenga Scholarship, named in memory of Dr. Ouwenga—a QMG Urologist known for his scholarship, leadership, and dedication to patients and the community—was awarded to Aive S. (Quincy Senior High School) and Morgan Z. (Quincy Notre Dame High School).

The Rural Health Excellence Scholarship, established by Drs. Korhan and Ayca Raif, supports high school seniors in Pike County, Illinois. This year’s recipients are Mariska S. (Griggsville-Perry High School), Lila S. (Pittsfield High School), Madison B. (Pleasant Hill High School), and Rachel M. (Western High School).
