Sometimes therapy looks like hard work, and sometimes it looks like flying a kite! 🪁

This week, our therapy team had the privilege of sharing a very special moment with Carrol. Her husband loved making and flying kites with their grandkids, but Carrol had never flown one herself. She always enjoyed watching from the sidelines. After losing him a few years ago, that simple joy carried even more meaning.
With the beautiful spring weather here in southeast Iowa, we took advantage of the sunshine, perfect temperatures, and steady breeze to try something new. And guess what? Carrol flew her first kite!

There were lots of smiles—and a few giggles—when the kite flew into a tree… a true rite of passage when flying your first kite! Getting outside didn’t just lift our spirits; it also helped work on balance, confidence, and navigating uneven surfaces, all while creating a memory she’ll never forget.

Moments like these remind us that rehab is about more than exercises. It’s about living, healing, and doing the things that matter most.
