Anthony Harlan Barringer

Anthony H. Barringer, 19, of Kerhonkson, NY

It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Anthony H. Barringer, age 19, of Kerhonkson, New York, on January 14, 2026. Anthony’s loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family meant everything to Anthony. He shared a deep and devoted love with his beautiful fiancée, Ariana Notaro.

He was the cherished son of Jennifer Krum, affectionately known as MommaK and Eugene Barringer, and a beloved future son-in-law to Jeremy and Amanda LaChance. Anthony was a devoted brother to Mikey Baracca (Heather Robbins), Jade Barringer (Maura Cleary), Zachary Barringer, Jorgey Martinez, Gio Martinez, Colton LaChance and Weston LaChance. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandmothers, Maryann Krum and Susan Barringer; his uncles, Krummy (Mercy) and Richie Kump (Laura); as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Rudy and Lucy Kump, and his beloved family dog, Kahlia. Anthony also leaves behind his closest friends: Zack Martinez, Aaron Cox, Cody Beach, Nathan Shultis, JJ Jansen, Dash Stratton, and Marty Williams Jr.

Anthony had a special place in his heart for his pets, Luna, Princess, Max, Harley and Mahli, who brought him constant comfort and joy. He was a passionate fan of the New York Jets and loved music, but held a special connection to Honestav and Buy Dirt by Luke Bryan, which were always part of his daily life.

A true pillar of the community, Anthony dedicated much of his life to football. He grew up playing in the Rondout Valley Youth Football League and continued through Rondout Valley High School, where he proudly served as a varsity team captain. Giving back came naturally to him, as he volunteered his time coaching youth football and basketball, inspiring younger athletes through encouragement and leadership. Family always came first, followed closely by his love for football.

Anthony was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Sheeley Roofing, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Above all, he will be remembered for his kind heart and selfless nature. Anthony was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, never hesitating to help others.

Anthony’s legacy of love, generosity, and community spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will forever be missed and deeply loved.

Edward H. Wyman

Edward Hugh Wyman, born January 2, 1948, in the Bronx, New York, passed peacefully at home on January 8, 2026, exactly as he wished.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine “Chris” Wyman, who passed on December 15, 2025.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Brown, her husband Jeremiah Brown, and his cherished granddaughter, Devin Brown, who was the absolute joy of his life.

Ed was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wyman and Ann Wyman (née Cummings); his stepfather, George Ziemer; and his brother, Robert Wyman. He is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Wyman; his sister Lu Ann Strellner and her husband Steve; his brothers George Ziemer and wife Margaret, Charles Ziemer and wife Alexandra, and James Ziemer and wife Barbara; his cousin Hugh Cummings and wife Rosemary; and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who adored him and will miss him deeply.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in July 1967. He served aboard the USS Newport News (CA-148) and attained the rank of Shipfitter (Pipefitter) Third Class (SF3). His service included time during the Vietnam era, and he was honorably discharged on September 13, 1971.

During his military service, Ed earned several decorations, including the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the National Defense Service Medal. He carried his service with quiet pride and never needed recognition to know what it meant.

Following his time in the Navy, Ed continued his trade as a plumber and pipefitter, becoming a longtime member of Plumbers and Gasfitters Local Union No. 1, where he remained a proud retiree. He was also a devoted member of the Bronx VFW Post 620 for over 50 years and later the Kerhonkson VFW Post 8959, communities that mattered deeply to him.

Ed was an easygoing, laid-back man—until he needed his famous “Bronx Eddie” attitude, which appeared right on cue when the moment called for it. He was well known for his classic Irish goodbyes. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and especially raising pigeons, often found quietly in the yard with them. Above all, he adored his granddaughter Devin, and the bond they shared was unmistakable.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Ed and Chris spent a few years in Texas, where they welcomed their daughter Laura, while he worked on oil refineries before returning home to New York. Eventually, they settled in Kerhonkson, where Laura grew up on a small farm—with sheep, rabbits, chickens, goats, and even a pig from time to time—a childhood full of animals, responsibility, and love.

Ed was a wonderful father who gave his daughter a strong foundation for life. He believed in honesty, resilience, and the understanding that life does not last forever—and that death is part of the natural cycle. After a brief battle with colorectal cancer, he was able to return home on hospice care, where he remained comfortable and at peace until the end.

Ed passed quietly in his home, with his daughter by his side, in a moment filled with love, gratitude, and grace.

He left this world without pain, surrounded by love, exactly the way he wanted.

Ed will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.

November 29, 1937- January 7, 2026

James M. Reilly, Sr. (Jim) passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 88. He lived in Kerhonkson, NY with his wife of 68 years.

Jim was born on November 29, 1937 to Patrick and Sarah Reilly in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in a loving household where he was one of seven siblings. Growing up in Brooklyn he enjoyed playing handball, boxing, and spending time with his family and friends.

In 1956 he joined the US Navy and served honorably for four years during which time he served on the aircraft carrier, USS Independence. On June 22, 1957 he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Kitty) Reilly. They lived for a time in Brooklyn NY and had two children. In 1973 they moved upstate to Kerhonkson where they created a beautiful life together. He was truly an animal lover, and throughout the years he had many pets, especially his sweet “Lady”. After much hard work and dedication he became the first ever Employee Assistance Coordinator for New York State, where he helped many NYS employees by referring them to resources they needed to navigate through all different types of personal issues and crises. He was an avid member of the Our Lady of Lourdes church where he spent years helping with announcements, was the leader of the choir, joined the Knights of Columbus, and really served the lord through his community. He was always helping his family whether it was working on cars, building or repairing things, or just giving great advice and guidance. What he loved most in his life was God and his family. His capacity for love grew and grew as he went through life first as a son and brother, then a husband, father, and uncle, then a grandfather, and finally a great-grandfather. No matter his title in this family or community, his essence remained the same, which was that of profound compassion, wisdom, healing, and unwavering love.

Larry Gobrecht

Larry E. Gobrecht (79) passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born October 22, 1946, in Cornwall, New York, to Robert and Jean Gobrecht, Larry spent his youth swimming in Moodna Creek, exploring Schunnemunk Mountain, and summering in Sag Harbor. He enrolled at Orange County Community College at the age of 16, studied for a bit at SUNY Plattsburgh, and graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 1969. Later he taught English at Warwick High School and delivered bread across Ulster County for extra income. Larry married his college sweetheart, Paulina, in 1971 before they moved to Minneapolis where he completed a Masters in American Studies. They returned to the east coast in 1973 and enjoyed grand house sitting and intoxicating lawn parties while Larry studied for a second Masters, of Early American Culture, at Winterthur in Delaware. He finished his fellowship there in 1975 and shortly thereafter began work at the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation where he would spend the rest of his career in service to old buildings and their inhabitants. Larry was regularly called upon by the Smithsonian Institution to deliver lectures aboard Hudson Valley history river cruises and provided expert advice to historical societies and curious folk he met throughout his life. Larry and Paulina settled in Kinderhook after their first child was born and tended to an estate there while completing renderings for an eclectic cottage, he later built on Mile Hill Road. Their marriage ended in 1993, and Larry resettled in North Chatham with his new love Lynn where they lived on weekdays and weekended atop the Shawangunk ridge in Cragsmoor, at Lynn’s mountain home next to the Stone Church. It was here he would labor and love for the next 30 years. Larry left his mark on numerous buildings he restored and/or renovated, including his childhood home on Taylor Road, the Cragsmoor Historical Society, and Stoneybrae, a beloved mountainside pub. His unmatched attention to detail and strict adherence to cultural appropriateness in his handy work will be remembered by all who (at times painfully) witnessed and or collaborated with him on projects big and small. Larry was a curator of curiosities, a pensive guy, good listener, and could be counted on for level-headed advice. He preferred puttering in barns to traversing the earth, although Lynn had some success pulling him along on trips to Colorado, Ireland, Poland, and Trinidad and Tobago. In addition to his loved ones, he leaves behind an expansive rare book collection, and more tools and equipment than your local hardware store.

Larry is survived by his loving, long-time companion, Lynn Garofalini; daughter, Jordan Gobrecht of Albany; son, Curtis Gobrecht and his partner Heather Kowalski of North Chatham; grandchildren, Harper and Orson Wagg; his adopted Cragsmoor family – Jennifer, Jim, Maximo, Sophia, Odette, Dana, Brian, Tanner, and Keegan; and his former spouse, Paulina Gobrecht. In addition to his parents, Larry is predeceased by his sisters, Laurel McElroy, Barbara Ann Gundersen, and Marie Cristofano.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 3rd from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at On the Rocks, 3984 NY-52, Pine Bush, NY 12566. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Larry’s honor be made to Cragsmoor Historical Society https://donorbox.org/2018-chs

Christine Wyman

Christine Wyman, lovingly known as “Chris,” passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 15, 2025, at Ellenville Hospital in Ellenville, New York. She was 74.

Chris was born on February 24, 1951, in the Bronx, New York, to Bertil and Claire Thornblad, both of whom predeceased her. She grew up in the Bronx, went to trade school, and began her career as a secretary.

Chris married Edward “Eddie” Wyman, and together they welcomed their daughter, Laura, in 1977. They built a life that included time in Texas, a return to the Bronx, and eventually a move to Kerhonkson, New York in the 1980s — a place Chris called home for the rest of her life.

For many years, Chris worked as a lunch lady with the Rondout Valley School District, both at the middle school and the high school, where she made many lifelong friends. She was known for her humor and the way she could make even a cafeteria line feel like a fun place to be. She joked with the kids daily

— and if you were one of her favorites, you might get a French fry tossed your way… or even have one expertly launched into the back of your shirt.

Chris loved reading and loved her family even more. She especially adored watching her granddaughter, Devin, grow into the wonderful 13-year-old she is today. One of the family’s most cherished recent memories is Chris being able to sing “Happy Birthday” to Devin on her 13th birthday this year.

Chris was a genuinely kind, funny, and loving person. In the last decade of her life, she lived with severe COPD, which kept her closer to home and limited time with friends, but she remained deeply connected to the people she loved most.

Chris is survived by her husband, Edward “Eddie” Wyman; her daughter, Laura Brown; her son-in-law, Jeremiah Brown; and her beloved granddaughter, Devin Brown. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy Cocchiara. She was predeceased by her parents, Bertil and Claire Thornblad, and her brother, Richard Thornblad.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services. Chris will be cremated, and a gathering to celebrate her life may be held at a later date.

She will be remembered for her humor, her big heart, her Bronx spirit, and the unforgettable way she could make people laugh — sometimes with nothing more than a well-aimed French fry.

Patricia Salovich

With endless sorrow, we announce the passing of Patricia Salovich of Kerhonkson on December 8th, 2025. She was only 66 years old. Patty or Pat to friends and family, she was born on January 11th, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York to Mary "Mitzi" Detelj and Louis Savery. She grew up in New York City among a large extended family. She left Brooklyn for the Hudson Valley after marriage to her husband Joseph "Joe" Salovich in July 1987, where they lived for nearly four decades together, raising two children. She retired from the clerical circuit of Rondout Valley High School in Accord in 2024 after many years of service to the school district. A lifelong Mets fan, Patty went to several games a year with her husband and was an avid Mets bobblehead collector. She always had a travel bug, from Club Med in the 80s, to family vacations driving all over the East Coast, to cruises around the Caribbean with her husband. The beach was her happy place, and she made sure to go yearly; the pink sand of Bermuda was among her favorites. In her downtime, she enjoyed puzzles and needlepoint and feeding the cat table scraps he wasn't supposed to have. Her scrapbooks are full of her many adventures and she mourned the loss of physical ticket stubs and printed photos. Above all, she loved her kids and family more than anything.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years Joe, her daughter Amy, and her son Tyler, a cacophony of nieces (Robin, Susan, Kerri, Chrissy, Allyson, Jennifer, Kristin, Kate, and Kerrie) and their families, as well as her cat, Caesar. She was predeceased by her mother Mary (d. 2010), her father Louis (d. 1993), her sister MaryAnn (d. 1978), her brother Lewis (d. 2016), and her nephew Stuart (d. 2018). She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her, her absence already heavily felt at this time of year.

Visitation will be held at Humiston Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3 from 1 - 4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the local humane society, Ulster County SPCA. https://www.ucspca.org/

John P. Neidhardt III

John P. Neidhardt III of Accord, New York, died suddenly at his home on November 10, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie (nee Brown); his two sons John (Kat), and Andrew (Caryn); his three beloved granddaughters Loretta, Helen, and Ruth; and his siblings Brian, Donna, Tommy, and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents, John Neidhardt, Jr., and Rita Neidhardt (nee Hux) of Lodi, New Jersey.

Born in 1955 in Teaneck, New Jersey, John was raised in Lodi where he attended Lodi High School and later Plaza School before beginning his career as an electrician, facilities engineer and entrepreneur. He pioneered many electrical engineering and plant engineering technologies when they were in their infancy. In retirement, John continued to use his repair skills working at Skate Time 209 and was a devoted volunteer for Friends of Historic Rochester. He was incredibly fond of restoring antique radios and bringing old electronics back to life.

He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help anyone, especially if it involved fixing something and even more-so if could instill that knowledge onto others. Always a cheerful person, he was happiest when he could tangibly help those he loved. He loved rock n’ roll and remembering every concert he attended. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors, whether visiting with his parents, fishing or catching reptiles, reminiscing with siblings, or taking his granddaughters for new adventures.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday November 16, 2025, at Humiston Funeral home at 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson, New York.
