9/11: Nearly 3,000 lives lost and a nation changed forever 24 years ago ❤️‍🩹 We will always hold this day in our hearts. I was in English class in high school , part of a military family, when the towers were hit. I remember how so many friends parents and my own family members were instantly pulled to duty, leaving that very day to defend our nation. Dr. Kim

📱✨ Theres a season for everything- including screen time. Sometimes it’s higher (like in the summer, postpartum time or pregnancy) and that’s ok- when it is that season though, make it the healthiest it can be! Here’s some tips to help:

1) Reduce negative spinal impact (looking down at the phone causes neck and strain, headaches and damaged the neck curve our spine needs to thrive!) by making sure the device is at eye level. Laying on their tummy during screen time easily helps this!

2) Ever notice your child’s behavior is more aggravated with screen time? This is proven by research and studies. Help reduce that by having lower interval times but more sessions. The longer one sits on the phone uninterrupted the more it will negatively impact their behavior.

3) Blue light blockers- the negative impact on brain waves and behaviors can be reduced by blocking the blue light emitted from televisions, iPads and phones. Having your child wear those during screen times is helpful!

4) Make it earned and beneficial! Want screen time? Make sure your room is cleaned, you’re dressed and ready for the day and you’ve completed a chapter of reading or math sheet etc. Get creative !

Don’t give into parent guilt - that’s of the enemy and doesn’t serve you. Release that and move into your best self. We here at The Village support you! 💪 💕
