May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
For many veterans and first responders, the battle does not end after the uniform comes off. Across our nation, thousands are silently struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and su***de.
The data is difficult to ignore:
• Approximately 17 veterans die by su***de every day in the United States.
• Veterans experience significantly higher su***de rates than the civilian population.
• Nearly 29% of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans will experience PTSD during their lifetime.
• Veterans diagnosed with PTSD face su***de rates nearly double that of veterans without PTSD.
• The first year after leaving military service is one of the highest-risk periods for su***de and mental health decline.
• Female veterans experience disproportionately high su***de rates compared to non-veteran women.
At Courage Beyond Combat, we believe there is hope and recovery is possible.
We help veterans and first responders overcome mental health struggles and addiction.
No one should have to fight these battles alone.
If you are a veteran, first responder, or family member looking for help, reach out to us today. Even if you are not sure where to start, we are here to walk alongside you.
You served others. Let us serve you.
