As a native to the state of Texas and a graduate of the Houston College of Optometry, Tobin B. Self-employed since 1986, Dr. Tilley expanded his practice in 1992 to include The Vision Source name. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Tilley has served on the Board of directors at The Laser Center since 1999. He has remained an active member of Kerrville Exchange Club since 1988, and served as President in 1990. Licensed as both a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist, Dr. Tilley treats eye infections, removes ocular foreign bodies, and diagnoses and treats glaucoma. Dr. Tilley actively assists in Laser Vision Correction procedures, performing all pre-operative and post-operative testing. Dr. Tilley generously devotes his time to the community and those in need:
· Glaucoma screenings at the River Hills Mall and other locations, 1986 to present
· Medina Children’s Home, Grace Bible School, and Notre Dame School – conducted vision screenings, 1989 to present
· Head Start of Kerrville, Comfort, and Center Point, TX – conducted vision screenings and Member of Head Start Health Advisory Panel, 1989 to present
· Vision USA Provider through AOA – provides free eye care for those in need, but not eligible for government supported programs, 1992 to present
It should be no surprise that Dr. Tilley has been recognized as Kerrville’s “Best Optometrist” for four years in a row. Having an exceptionally caring nature, Dr. Tilley takes the time to perceptively listen to each patients concern. His years of experience contribute to his incredible success in all areas of therapeutic optometry including fitting contact lenses on patients who were once considered difficult to fit.
