Our hearts continue to be with everyone affected by the recent flooding in Kerrville, Hunt, Ingram, and surrounding communities.

In honor of Camp Mystic and all those impacted, K’STAR has joined in the effort to wrap our trees and spaces in green ribbons- a small but powerful symbol of love, remembrance, and solidarity. 💚

Our shelter kiddos also wanted to extend their gratitude by creating thank you signs for the incredible teams at the Ingram Police Department and Ingram Fire Department, who have shown unwavering dedication during these tragic times. 🚔🚒

This post is in honor of those we’ve lost, those who continue to grieve, and those who serve our communities with heart. We stand with you, we remember with you, and we send our deepest love and thanks.

As a reminder:
Our Family Specialists will be at the Doyle Community Center today through Friday from 10:30 AM to 3 PM offering grief support and counseling. We can also schedule virtual sessions for those unable to travel to the location. Please share with those who may benefit from these services. K’STAR Counseling Center is here for you.

The recent flood has brought unimaginable loss and heartache to Kerrville and the surrounding Hill Country areas. Homes, lives, and a sense of safety were shaken and in times like these, we all need support.
At K’STAR, our hearts are with every child, family, first responder, and neighbor impacted by this devastation. We understand the emotional toll this tragedy has taken, and we want to help in the ways we can.

This week, K’STAR Family Specialists will be set up at the Doyle Community Center from Wednesday, July 9th to Friday, July 11th, offering free, confidential grief counseling services from 10:30 AM to 3 PM. We can also offer VIRTUAL services during this time.
These services are available for children and teens, parents, caregivers, families, and anyone affected by the storm & seeking emotional support.
No appointment is needed. A bilingual Family Specialist will be available each day to ensure the services are accessible for more of our community.

Our team is compassionate, professionally trained, and here to walk beside you during this heavy time with open hearts and listening ears.

Our hearts are heavy in Kerrville.
This is such a devastating time for all involved. We ask for your prayers for the first responders and rescue teams working tirelessly, for the victims and their families, and for the safe reunification of those still missing. Please keep our entire community and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts. 🙏💔

🚐We have some incredible news to share and our shelter kiddos are literally jumping for joy!

Thanks to the amazing team at Ken Stoepel Ford, K’STAR was able to purchase a new van after our previous one was unexpectedly totaled. From start to finish, their team worked quickly and compassionately to help us find the right vehicle at a rate that worked for our nonprofit. 🙌 They understood the urgency of our situation & stepped up in a big way to make sure our kids didn’t miss any summer adventures!

We are beyond grateful for their generosity, their support of K’STAR’s mission, and the kindness they’ve shown throughout the entire process. This van isn’t just transportation, it’s what gets our kids to safe places, enriching experiences, and fun outings!
