Attention all current/prospective clients of Mirror Image Equine LLC! I have been behind the scenes working hard to continue to bolster my education, perfect my craft, and add to my practice a different array of services to be able to help each and every equine that crosses my path. I’m meeting my ultimate goal of becoming a “whole horse practitioner”.

With these continued efforts to improve myself and my skills, I have made the decision to raise the prices of all of my services. The following rates will be effective for ALL clients as of September 1st, 2025:

✨Bodywork w/ Tape: $90/horse
✨Riding/Groundwork Lessons: $65
✨Training Rides/Groundwork Sessions: $40
✨Injury Rehab: Case by case quotes
✨Surgical/Procedure Rehab: Case by case quotes

All services will incur a travel fee, and that charge will be added to the cost of each service. If you have any questions about these new rates or want to get the cost of your individual trip charge, shoot me a message! I will also eventually be offering barefoot hoofcare as I continue my education in that realm! Thank you for your business and please understand that these increases allow me to show up for YOUR horse with new skills, techniques, and knowledge to help you both on your journey. ✨

One of the most important things we can do to support our horses during rehab and recovery is to provide high quality nutrition in bioavailable forms that their bodies can actually absorb and utilize. The only products I trust to feed my rehab horses are made by the one and only .feeds ✨

During stall rest and recovery, supporting lymphatic drainage is one of the most effective ways we can help after surgery or injury. When a horse is on stall rest and experiencing restricted movement, there is a decrease in normal lymphatic flow and therefore a decrease in circulation of healing nutrients. We can use K-Tape to emulate normal lymphatic circulation and movement of nutrient-giving fluid.

Under the guidance of Ila’s primary vet, we used some tape under her bandage to encourage the dispersion of lymph fluid accumulating around her hock from the compression of the bandage. Hoping to see some improvement next time we change her bandaging!

Stall rest does not have to be indoors!!!! When we think of stall rest, our gut churns as we picture endless hours of confinement in a dark dusty barn. We picture our horses going absolutely bananas, missing their friends and missing the sunshine.

The main purpose of stall rest is to restrict movement. We can restrict movement and still allow the horse some outside time and a chance to hang out with a friend! Miss Ila is in for surgical recovery for the next month and allowing her some outside time to enjoy the sunshine and mutually groom her neighbor has already greatly improved her mental health! We can make the best of stall rest by implementing some simple and easy enrichment and management changes! Do you have a horse on stall rest that you want to have a brighter outlook with? A nice little facial rebalance after this pretty lady got her teeth floated! Imbalance in the mouth can create dysfunction throughout the facial and neck muscles which in turn can affect locomotion and the balance of the entire body! So much of the horse’s musculature ties into the mouth so dental imbalance can have profound effects on the body.

Has your horse been resistant to the bit lately? Have they been having trouble bending and getting soft through the shoulder and ribs? Dental care is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle!

What I love about tape is that we can use it to create connection in areas of disconnect. Tensegrity is the concept that all of the pieces that make up the whole body function as one unit, meaning restriction in one area can create discord in another.

After a long trailer haul, Tilley lost a lot of spinal mobility and i could feel a lost connection between mid-back and hind end. Having to brace and stabilize in a trailer for 8+ hours is hard on any horse, even fit competition horses, and the body will rush to compensate in any situation. We used a bilateral circulation application to ‘connect’ her lower thoracic and lumbar spine back to her pelvis and restore blood and lymphatic flow to the stressed tissues. Once her hind end was back online, she was a happy gal!

I really love working on pregnant mares. My work almost always gets baby moving, and it’s really neat to feel the little fist bumps from inside as I get mama’s tissues back to where they need to be. Restoration of blood flow to once stagnant areas sends a surge of oxygenated fluid and endorphins through mama’s body and release of ribcage and flank fascia allows mama to breathe deeper and give baby more space! I would want to be active too!

Caring for and treating your pregnant/lactating mamas as if they are in heavy work (because they ARE) allows for faster postpartum recovery. A high quality diet balancer, free choice hay, light exercise, and supportive soft tissue work are excellent ways to ensure a healthy baby and a comfy, happy mama.
