Signed Mostly Crow

Signed Mostly Crow If you are looking for a whimsical approach to good true Southern Country Girl Muses, You have come to the right place. Sit back and enjoy!

I am Stephanie LouEllen Clyburn Sumner and I am 35 years old. I was born on August 14, 1979 in Camden, SC. I am married to Jason Dale Sumner and live in the home my mother purchased when I was 8 years old. I worked in many different industries to include hospitality, restaurant, customer service, construction, auto mechanics, agricultural and odds and ends. I became a mom at the early age of 19. He was diagnosed with a rare kidney disorder at the age of 18 months old and we began the roller coaster of the medical world which led to my ultimate decision to work within the medical field in different capacities. I worked for a Non-Medical Agency that provided care for the elder for 8 years. During that time I was a caregiver for my grandfather who was a World War II vet and cared for him until the day he passed, December 20, 2013. Recently I expanded my career to consultant services and work with the SC Respite Coalition where we advocate and educate the necessity of Respite across the life span. I never consider my life's work to be complete and will always look for ways to expand my horizons. I choose to share these experiences with others so that hopefully they are able to be inspired.

Signed Mostly Crow is derived from the generational inspiration of the Crow family in Kershaw, SC. My great grandfather, Guy Buyer Crow was the beginning of my story and his experience of living on the farm was extremely influential in my life and who I am today. Long story short, my parents divorced when I was 4 and before my mom could establish a home of her own, we stayed with my grandparents in the Gateford Community that is located a little hop from Hwy. 341 in between Kershaw, SC and Bethune, SC. They owned a farm where we had chickens, cattle, gardens, and everyone had a job to do. It did not matter how old you were, your "job" was a piece to the bigger puzzle. You were important to the family not because you were family, but because you were a part of something bigger and your contribution helped to complete the whole picture. Growing up in this community has given me the morals, values, and integrity of living in the country. Where I grew up, we worked hard, lived life to the fullest extent and everyone was family. Because of this foundation that I was blessed with along with my mother being an English teacher at North Central High School, I loved to read and write. This in turn helped me to express my true feelings and thoughts about life in general. Some say there is wisdom beyond my years in my musings and posts. I have experienced so much in my life thus far that it is natural with my enjoyment of writing that I would be irresponsible to not share my thoughts in the world. Henceforth, Signed Mostly Crow is my outlet and my space to be able to share what I think about current events, country living and life in general. There is a saying, " I ate Crow." which Eating crow is an American colloquial idiom, meaning humiliation by admitting wrongness or having been proven wrong after taking a strong position. Crow is presumably foul-tasting in the same way that being proven wrong might be emotionally hard to swallow. In my posts, I often address the hard issues and take a strong position in my beliefs of how this world should be. I attribute that to the foundation of the generations before me that made me to be the person I am today. It just so happens that my great grandfather last name was Crow and for that reason, my posts are Mostly Crow - but it will be the crow you want to eat. My goal is that you learn something or it strikes an inspiration change in your life. I have had many people to influence my life in positive and negative but I believe that any influence is an opportunity to glean the life lessons from it. I hope you enjoy the information, opinions and encouraging posts of this page. We welcome open minds, absorbing spirits and kind hearts to this page. I promise it will be an adventure you will never forget!
