Jamal Taha, MD, FAANS is a trusted neurosurgeon and spine surgeon, speaker and lecturer, and board member for numerous groundbreaking initiatives in the advancement of spine and brain surgery techniques. Dr. Taha practices at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio as well as at Miami Valley Center and the Medical Center of Saint Elizabeth in Dayton Ohio. Dr. Taha also practices in Cincinnati at
the Jewish Hospital, Mercy Fairfield Hospital, Bethesda North Hospital and JourneyLite surgery center. Dr. Jamal Taha’s career started at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he underwent neurosurgical and spine training. He completed a fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon and then joined Mayfield Clinic and Spine Institute. During his time in Cincinnati Dr. Taha made a name for himself by being the first medical professional to perform deep brain stimulation for tremor and Parkinson’s Disease in 1996. In addition to his treatment of complex spine disorders at this clinic, Dr. Taha also practiced at The Neuroscience Institute and taught as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He launched the program for the neurosurgical treatment of pain disorders and was was appointed the director of the Division of Functional Neurosurgery as well as integral member of the complex spine trauma call.
