Older adults are at higher risk for certain eye diseases and conditions, including age related macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, dry eye, and low vision.

Eye diseases often have no early symptoms, but can be detected during a comprehensive dilated eye exam. Schedule your eye exam to prevent future issues.

Look at those eyes!! 👀

Newborns have blurry vision for the first 4 months that develops over time, but they do love to focus on your face (especially your eyes) as you hold them.

It takes a baby about 4 months to fully see colors and distant objects.

New data shows young patients representing with retinal vein occlusion who don’t otherwise have underlying risk factors within weeks after COVID-19 infection.

COVID-19 infection seems associated with coagulation dysfunction that can cause hemi- or central retinal vein occlusion (HRVO or CRVO), in this study of patients under 50 years of age.

Is it possible to have a visual without a headache?

Yes. It is actually very common. This is referred to as an “acephalgic migraine,” which means migraine symptoms without headache. A visual migraine is a temporary visual distortion that often begins with a small sparkling, shimmering area that slowly expands outward. The growing spot often has jagged, zig-zag edges. The visual symptoms typically last approximately 20-30 minutes and then completely resolve. The episode is often referred to as an ‘aura.’
