The Garden of Hope and Remembrance at Kettering Medical Center

The Garden of Hope and Remembrance at Kettering Medical Center The Garden, dedicated May 2013, is in memory of pregnancy and newborn losses at Kettering Medical Center. Therefore, all losses are represented in the garden.

It is a tranquil place where families and friends can remember, find hope and begin to heal after a pregnancy or newborn loss. Pregnancy loss can be devastating, no matter when it happens or the circumstances. Losses under 20 weeks gestation are memorialized with a small glass stone selected by the parents. The small stone reminds us that no matter how small, the loss is visible. The stone reflect

s light, adds beauty to the garden and symbolizes the memory of a dream that was lost. Losses over 20 weeks, whether through stillbirth or occurring shortly after birth, are memorialized with a brick paver. The pavers will be placed in a walkway that winds through the garden. A donor has made it possible for our families to obtain a paver at no cost. If you would like to request a paver, please send an email to gardenofhope@khnetwork.org

The garden is located in the front of the hospital on the basement level (level C2 of the parking garage) at the Cardiac Rehab entrance. The Memory Garden was made possible by a generous donation from:
Drs Todd and Annette (Bombrys) Boyd. Garden landscape and design provided by Scarffs Nursery

Today, all month long, and always....

We remember the babies born sleeping, those we carried but never held, those we held but could not take home, those who came home but could not stay, and those that live in our hearts & dreams.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. And at 7pm on October 15th we light a candle for the Wave of Light.

For the Wave of Light light a candle at 7pm in remembrance of your baby, your family member, your friend’s baby....to let others know they’re not alone in this journey.

We lit our candle for all the tiny lives lost. ♥️🕯
