Happy Mother's Day to my Spanish mother and my Galicia grandmother as well as blessings to my beloved godfather. I am starting the Camino de Santiago tomorrow about 150 miles from where this photograph was taken in northern Spain. This whole trip came together and it has meaning on so many levels that it blows my mind. my grandmother was born near where the end of our pilgrimage is for the coming of the Santiago. I can't believe that God didn't have a hand in making this happen for me.

First day in Galicia. That's the tower of Hercules behind me the oldest functioning lighthouse in Europe built by the Romans before AD 100. Lots of walking in Spain… I have not even started the pilgrimage and I logged 5.6 miles today! And of course with that kind of work I deserve a good reward at the end!

Tonight as I am preparing for my upcoming pilgrimage, the Camino de Santiago, I have a sense of awe about what I am about to do. It is truly a bucket list item. Our beautiful founders park serves as my imaginary Camino as I trained with my backpack. Why am I walking 100 km on a medieval route? I see it as a walk with God and act of devotion and gratitude. A new pathway is opening up to me on a journey the pilgrims have been undergoing for 1000 years. Hopefully this is the gateway and the light that will be with me in this stage of my life.

What is a Medicare annual wellness visit? It is a questionnaire that we go through every year to make sure that you're getting every single prevention service that Medicare would like for you. It is supposed to be done by the primary care physicians! After all we're the ones that if you didn't get what you were entitled to we would make sure you could get it and then tell you what the results are. Do not let a specialist ask you these questions! They are trying to get paid for something they have no business doing! So if you have a kidney specialist asking about your depression that is a red flag!

This must've been what I had two weeks ago. It really kicked my behind! I was vaccinated in September 2025. It was pretty nasty even though I treated it right away with the medication. I still feel residual fatigue. By the way I tested negative before it came back to work, for those who might be curious.

Dry eye is a disease. I have been feeling off and on kind of itchy gritty feeling in my eyes which I attributed to allergies, and treated myself with allergy eye drops. When I saw my ophthalmologist Dr. Stanley Rosenberg, he diagnosed me with the condition, and put plugs in my tear ducts. Problem solved. Just goes to show why doctors need other doctors to care for them! Thank you Doc!
