Patient safety is a team sport. During Patient Safety Awareness Week, we’re highlighting this year’s theme: teamwork—because safe care happens when communication, collaboration, and trust come together.

And our safety coach team provides support and mentorship, giving feedback about best practices and modeling safe behavior. Our teams support each other to maintain a safe environment.

On Monday, we're kicking off our fourth annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to fight hunger, with donations going to SOS Foundation Stock Island Food Pantry.

Join us by donating a jar of peanut butter or other nut butter at Lower Keys Medical Center main lobby between March 9th and 25th, Mondays through Saturdays, 7 am - 7 pm.

*Note: no glass jars, please.

Old Town Bakery - by Andy Thurber

An Art in Public Buildings program with the Florida Keys Council of the Arts

Key West artist Andy Thurber paints local scenes and local folks. Many paintings are of his childhood experiences from growing up in culturally rich Key West. He is best known for his whimsical plein air watercolors and his intricate bas-relief wood carvings. His work is highly collectible and has earned him a reputation as an accurate and witty chronicler of the Key West lifestyle.

We are delighted to feature this original work in our main lobby and prints in some of our recently renovated patient rooms. Thank you, Andy!
