Dr. Kim Byrd-Rider received a bachelor’s degree in Health Science, a master’s degree in physical therapy, and a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Boston University. She lectures throughout the US for Cross Country Continuing Education Courses teaching physical therapist how to integrate yoga into their practice. Certified in Swatantrya yoga, she has practiced all of the major yoga styles o
ver the last 20 years. Taking the best elements of each style, she filters them through physical therapy evidence-based research science, synthesizing the different styles to create an authentic, safe and therapeutic yoga approach. Kim founded PT and Yoga, Corporation, which creates video yoga tools for rehab specialists and their patients. Through her company, she also escorts Event Journeys to destinations like Tahiti where she couples yoga education with fun travel. She teaches a free yoga class at the top of Aspen Mountain in her home town of Aspen, Colorado and serves as a physical therapist to Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity underprivileged communities and to Health Volunteers Overseas in India and throughout the world. Having worked in outpatient clinics, hospitals, home health, nursing home venues, and classroom education venues, she cultivates her passion for contributing to the evolution of rehab therapy and yoga.
