Meet our March Patient of the month Salty Kruth! Below Salty’s owners have been so kind to introduce us with a bio.
Hi, I’m Salty Dawg, named after my future, love of the ocean and the infamous Salty Dog Saloon in Homer, Alaska.
I am 5 months young and 46 pounds heavy, I’m growing like a w**d. My mom’s a golden retriever and my dad’s a Labrador retriever, making me as my parents like to call me, a Goldadoor.
As a 8 week old puppy, I drove across country in an RV for 3 weeks movinng here It was alot of fun but I think, but I think I drove my parents crazy because keep repeating, “whose crazy idea was it to travel across country with a new puppy?”
I live in Key West, where the water’s warm and so are the coconuts. My parents are teaching me to be a water baby, so I can live up to my “Salty” name.
Currently, I’m taking swimming lessons at dog beach and learning the ropes on the boat. My dad’s got big plans for me - he wants me to be a “Crabador” extraordinaire. We’ll see about that.
Come summer, I’m off to Sequim, Washington to learn the art of Dungeness crabbing. Don’t worry, I’ll stick to the shallow end... for now. On a not-so-proud note, I failed my bird dog test when some feisty chickens hijacked my ride - I mean, who doesn’t love a good car party? I didn’t flinch, but another customer did snap a photo and ratted me out.
Right now, I’m working on my manners, trying not to jump ship when visitors arrive. Key West is my playground, and I’m soaking up all the water fun. Soon, I’ll be mastering “Coco Loco”- that’s diving & swimming for coconuts in the backyard canal, for the uninitiated.
I have my own page called “Salty Dawg” if you want to follow my adventures growing up
