Someone told me last week my prices were too expensive.
This is my notebook from my first week seeing patients at Ace Physical Therapy in Kihei.

April 20th, first day:
“Huge difference on first visit.”

“The hip is feeling much better.”

“Wow this is good, it doesn’t hurt. I’ve been hurting since 2013.”

“Is it that simple? No, I’m just that good.”

“75-85% better.”

“The pain is gone. It moves better. In one visit.”

“Felt much better. My foot has not been working for 3 months.”

First week:
“This is the most my neck has moved for a very long time. I haven’t been able to turn my neck like this for 3 months.”

“Oh, it feels totally normal. I can’t believe it.”

“I can’t believe it, it is so different.”

“I didn’t know my neck caused my shoulder pain. I feel so much better.”

2 days until Maui. Here’s what I’m actually thinking.

Not about the logistics. Not about the schedule.

I’m thinking about the people on that island who’ve been managing something they shouldn’t have to manage.

I can’t get there fast enough.

He came in deflated. Assuming he’d need yet another surgery.

We worked on the physical. But we also worked on how he was thinking about his body and his discomfort.

He described it as lifting a cloud of doubt and disappointment. Restoring a sense of normalcy to his life.

Pain isn’t just physical. The story you carry about your body matters enormously.

20 years.

25 years.

The techniques change. The tools evolve. The research updates.

But one thing never changes:

The body wants to heal.

It just needs someone who knows how to listen.

That’s all I’ve ever done. Still learning how to do it better.

People are surprised when something shifts in the first session.

They shouldn’t be.

The body doesn’t need time to heal what’s been misunderstood. It needs someone to find the actual problem and address it correctly. When that happens, the response is immediate.

Most people feel different after the first session. That’s the promise.

They said: “You’ll have to live with this pain.” → Not always true.

They said: “Surgery is your only option.” → Get a second opinion first.

They said: “It’s just your age.” → Age explains a lot. It doesn’t mean you stop improving.

They said: “PT didn’t work before.” → Depends entirely on the approach.

New results require new methods.
