Kauai Community Health Alliance dba Hale Le`a Medicine and Urgent Care is seeking a Family Medicine Physician, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or a Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for primary healthcare for all ages in addition to reproductive and sexual health services. Provider responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a wide variety of medical problems, prescribing medications, and basic office procedures such as skin biopsies, joint injections, small laceration repairs etc. We follow evidence based guidelines regarding cancer screening and preventative medicine, making recommendations on lifestyle changes, and educating patients.

We are a rural, non-profit health center providing family practice, urgent care, physical therapy and behavioral health services. We are looking for a compassionate Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our care team in providing medical care on the north shore of the beautiful island of Kauai.

Our medical home model includes an integrative approach working alongside our wellness center providing physical therapy, acupuncture, licensed massage therapy and mental health services. Providers work together as a team in a supportive environment which allows for flexible schedules and work-life balance. Providers are not expected to be on call.

Provider Requirements:
-A medical degree and the successful completion of a residency and internship, as appropriate to your licensing.
-Hawaii state licenses to practice medicine in Hawaii.
-Experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Good leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-Patience and compassion.
-The ability and willingness to stay up to date on advancements, innovations, and developments in the field.

Per Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Federal Vaccination Mandate, all healthcare workers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

Job description

Everything you need to do your best work in service to the community is provided: supplies, massage table, lovely space, clients, association with a professional team, and a receptionist to schedule your appointments, greet clients and receive payment! Tips are all yours.

You should be familiar with various massage services that can help reduce pain and stress, such as deep tissue, Swedish, reflexology, shiatsu, and lymphatic drainage massage.

Our ideal candidate must be able to make a client feel comfortable and encourage them to return for additional treatment. Massage referrals come from doctors and other health care providers.

The LMT must possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with patients, staff and peer clinicians. They may collaborate with a team (physicians, physical therapists, mental health counselors, acupuncturists) to coordinate treatment strategies, exchange ideas and engage in case discussions. You will work in a professional, collaborative, medical environment.

What we are looking for:
-State massage therapist license is required
-Professional liability insurance is required and paid for by the employer
-Site specific or focused touch massage skills
-Injury or medical massage training desired
-Strong knowledge of human anatomy and muscle insertion/attachment points
-Client centered with the ability to communicate treatments applied during the session
-Reliable and motivated person with good team skills and a professional attitude
-Time management and documentation skills to provide exceptional quality care

8 - 30 hours per week at one location in Kilauea, Kauai, HI
Pay: $55 - $65 per hour, DOE

During this time of Covid-19, Hale Lea Medicine and Urgent Care remains open, taking care of both chronic and urgent care medical needs via telemedicine.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) testing is available if determined to be necessary.

These telemedicine services are available to all residents of Kauai regardless of whether they are established or new patients of the clinic.

Mental health counseling services are also available. Anxiety, depression and other concerns can be addressed in private telehealth visits.

Telemedicine visits are fully covered by all insurance carriers.

Available 7-days a week.
