Finally celebrating some BIG milestone workaversaries! 🎉

Tonya apparently started here at birth and is now at 15+ years (we’re impressed, honestly).

Derek joined the team shortly after cats were invented… and just hit 15 years. 🐱

And Kay? She started sometime between recess and homework and is now celebrating an incredible 30 YEARS at ETTC!

(We may have had a few laughs coming up with these timelines 😂)

Getting these three in one photo—taken by a 4th employee—was basically like herding Derek’s cats!

Huge thank you to Tonya DeKoker, CHT, Kay Stone Doss, SLP, and Derek Payer-Smith, PTA for the years (and YEARS) of dedication to the patients at East Texas Treatment Center. 💙

It never fails—when we’re out and about and mention ETTC, their names always come up. Patients ask if they’re still here, then launch into stories of healing, success…and of course, a few laughs (especially when Derek is involved 😄). IYKYK

Celebrating our clinicians for . Give them a round of applause, please! What is OT? How is it different from PT? OT helps people of all ages regain, develop, or maintain the skills needed for daily living, working, and learning after injury, illness, or disability. It focuses on enabling independence in meaningful activities—"occupations"—such as dressing, eating, working, or playing, through personalized treatment plans and environmental modifications! 👏👏👏

We started the day with a big pile of boxes and ended with a brand new BTE Simulator II and training for our clinicians! We are excited to roll out this new machine to OT & PT patients simulating home, sports & work tasks they need and want to master!
