Doula Support!!! Let’s talk about it! This is what doula support looks like. Mama (me) having contractions and my doula is squeezing my hips during the process. Hip squeezes provide counter pressure during contractions and make them easier to cope with. The double hip squeeze is a game changer. You get close to the laboring person, locate the sacrum and with flat hands you apply this pressure by pressing your palms towards the sacrum and holding during the contraction. Once the contraction is over, you slowly release your hands. This is a pain management technique that is used during labor, especially for mamas who are opting for a natural, medication free labor
