Bell County Medical Reps are joining forces to help support those who were affected by the disaster in Temple. Together as a community we can help those in the Temple and surrounding areas recover and rebuild!

We are accepting donations at our Killeen, Harker Heights Copperas Cove, Temple and Salado locations. We ask for your support, and if you are able to, please donate items such as clothes, non-perishable food, and other essentials. Every little bit counts and can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected!

It's Global Running Day! Today is a celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. Running offers many benefits to both physical and mental health such as increased energy, improved mood and general physical fitness.

While there are many benefits to running, there are also risks involved. Running can put stress on your joints and back leading to muscle strains or ligament sprains. Excessive running can lead to injuries such as shin splints, runner's knees, plantar fasciitis and IT band syndrome.

A physical therapist can assess a runner's mechanics and prescribe exercises to help minimize over use injuries, as well as assist in recovery from injury. If you have suffered a new injury, or chronic pain from running, contact us for an evaluation by a Doctor of Physical Therapy today!

It's National Hand Therapy Week! 🖐️ Integrity Rehab has two Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) within our occupational therapy department.

CHTs have extensive knowledge and experience with upper extremity anatomy, physiology, tissue healing and a mastery of post-operative protocols for complex conditions.

To obtain the CHT credential, a hand therapist must practice as an OT or PT for a minimum of three years, accumulating at least 4,000 hours of hand and upper extremity experience. Hand therapists must also pass a rigorous certification examination to demonstrate their competency in the practice of hand therapy.

Flip flops are a summer staple. Many of us enjoy the easy-breezy feel of the flip flop, but a summer of wearing flats can result in a wide range of foot ailments, some of which can last a lifetime.

Flips flops have been around since at least 1500 B.C. They have been the choice of footwear for everyone, from ancient Egyptians to California beachgoers. Wearing flip flops is better than going barefoot since they cover the bottoms of our feet. But, here’s the bad news about flip flops.

• Toes are forced to over-grip to hold the shoes on the feet

• No arch support or heel support

• Balance issues

• Affects posture

• Possibility of contracting fungus and bacteria

• Aggravates existing foot conditions such as arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and tendinitis

While the U.S. has very few statistics related to flip flop footwear, the American Podiatric Medical Association found that footwear affects the natural stride length. Wearing flip flops causes people to take a shorter stride when compared to sneakers.

When it comes to flip flops, practice moderation. Enjoy them at places like the beach, public swimming pools, showers or lockers, and at the gym. Keep summer feet happy all year.

Bell County residents can visit the site to receive bottles of water and Meals Ready to Eat Friday and Saturday

Due to building damage from the recent storm, the Integrity Rehab Temple West clinic at 288 Green Hollow Drive in Temple will be closed Thursday, May 23. Our scheduling team is working hard to keep patients updated on scheduling changes.

Farooq completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Guru Nanak Dev University in India, and a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University.
