In light of the recent devastation and flooding across Texas, CTBS and CTTA extend our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones, and our thoughts are with the families of those who are still missing.

As professionals working closely with neurodivergent individuals, we recognize that natural disasters and distressing news can be especially difficult to process. We wanted to share a few helpful tips on how to talk with children - and particularly those with autism - about traumatic events or unsettling media coverage.

Introducing,🥁Maryann Huckabee!!

Maryann has lived in Texas for most of her life and her husband was born and raised in the Belton area, so she claims Texas as her home state! Maryann has three kids of her own and several “bonus kids,” who are all unique and Maryann loves all of them! When Maryann started working with CEO Kristi in 2012, she started her undergrad in ABA and after received her Master’s in ABA. She earned both degrees while working full time through Purdue Global. Maryann began doing ABA because her friends (Kristi Tindell, and Angela Rogers) introduced her to the field during her time as a Pre-K director. Before joining CTBS she worked in the Daycare field as an interim director. At the time Maryann joined the CTBS team as an RBT there were only 4 employees and CTBS was in a completely different building. Now Maryann has worked her way up from RBT, to BCaBA, to BCBA and is now the Assistant Manager of the Killeen Main Clinic! When Maryann isn’t at CTBS she enjoys reading and coaching the Centex Champs! but family is most important to her, so her favorite thing is spending time with her Kids, bonus kids, grandbabies and bonus grandbabies! A fun fact about Maryann is she is a professional hugger, and the life of any party!

Thank You Maryann!

Introducing, 🥁Jessie Alexander

Jessie grew up in the countryside between Reading, Michigan, and Fremont, Indiana. On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, her best friend called with a life-changing opportunity—an equine-assisted therapy position working with Kristi Tindell. Just two days later, she packed up, moved to Texas with her dog Diesel, and attended her first team meeting at Kristi’s home that Sunday.
That moment marked the beginning of Jessie’s passion for working with horses and children. In 2015, that passion led her to become a Registered Behavior Technician, and Diesel soon became a certified therapy dog!
Since then, Jessie has poured her heart into providing thoughtful, compassionate ABA therapy—helping children thrive and supporting their families along the journey.
Not long after, she met Gino Young and became a proud mom to “two beautiful, spirited, and delightfully goofy kids.” Along the way, she rescued a dog and named her Dixie.
Together, they spend most of their time outdoors—attending cookouts, enjoying nature, and making memories with friends and family. When she’s not at CTBS Jessie loves horseback riding, camping, swimming, floating/ kayaking the river, dancing, and squeezing in time to read books whenever she can. Jessie said “I am grateful for every second of every day that I get to spend time with the people I love. Life is so very precious!”
One of her favorite quotes is “What’s life without pulling down your pants and sliding on the ice a little bit?” While it might sound like an invitation for reckless behavior, it’s also a reminder in life to let go, be a little silly, and try to find joy and amusement even in challenging or difficult circumstances.

Thank You, Jessie!
