Introducing, 🥁 Regan Thompson!

Regan is from Belton, Texas, where she lives with her awesome husband, Alex, and their two daughters, Norah and Isla. Their family includes their dog Cherry and cats, Nutter Butter and Olive. She earned a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue University.

Regan works as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and directs the Early Start program at Killeen Main. Her connection to CTBS began in childhood, growing up with the "original CTBS" known as the “Little Blue House” in her family’s backyard. Realizing she had a passion for working with kids, she started babysitting and nannying in her teens, later working at Education Connection. After three years as a nanny for another BCBA, she became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Dallas in 2015, accumulating nearly 11 years of experience in the field. She has loved being a part of every child's journey over the past 15 years, helping them to learn and grow.

Outside of work, Regan enjoys spending time with her family, especially at the beach. While her daughters keep her busy, she also likes reading, playing video games, and catching up on much needed sleep!

Another fun fact....Regan was a Division 1 athlete and holds records in high school cross country and track. She plays guitar and sings and her special talent is being able to draw absolutely anything her clients ask for....even combining characters like Sid the Sloth as Rapunzel. Regan has been snow skiing since she was four years old, enjoys longboarding, and is always open to new challenges!

Thank You, Regan!!

The function of a behavior is the “why,” behind the behavior. If a child yells during dinner to avoid eating vegetables that is an escape function. Similar behaviors can have different functions for different individuals, which is why behavior requires personalized, functional analysis.

Introducing, 🥁 Emily Caraballo!

Emily was born in California, and she has lived in Kansas, Utah, Washington State, and is now residing in Waco, Texas. After her husband retired from the military in 2021, they decided to make Waco their home. She feels grateful to come from a large family, having seven siblings, with one resting in heaven.

For the past four years, Emily has worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and is currently attending Purdue Global to complete her degree in Psychology with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She chose this field because of her passion for working with children. Emily finds immense satisfaction in teaching them the tools they need to navigate life, and witnessing their progress brings her great joy. There is a unique beauty in being part of a child’s journey as they master skills they once struggled with, and becoming a safe space for them is a rewarding experience. She believes that while the best RBTs celebrate small wins, in this field, those small victories represent significant milestones.

When she isn’t working, Emily dedicates time to attending class seminars and completing assignments. However, she cherishes her free time spent with her wonderful husband and their three children: Christopher (22), Nicholas (17), and Lilly (12), along with their two dogs, Link and Bruno. Emily enjoys crafting with her daughter, while her sons and she have fun putting puzzles together. As a family, they love spending summers at the lake and enjoying karaoke nights at home. Whenever possible, Emily drives to Kansas to spend time with her mother, whom she misses dearly. She also loves attending church at VLC and values the fellowship with her church family. Recently, she celebrated her 43rd birthday and looks forward to many more celebrations in the future

Thank You, Emily!!

Introducing 🥁Joy Wright!!

Joy hails from Mississippi but moved to Texas during her childhood. As a solo parent to her daughter, Josie, she also shares her home with three rescued cats. Currently, Joy is pursuing a degree in elementary education and elementary special education. The balancing act of school, parenthood, and work has significantly strengthened her patience and dedication.

Since 2021, Joy has been a Registered Behavior Technician with CTBS, driven by a strong desire to advocate for and work with children. Upon discovering the RBT role, she eagerly reached out to CTBS, seeking a career that would provide for both her and her daughter while allowing her to engage in meaningful work. Joy quickly developed a deep affection for the children at CTBS Oak Creek, and their growth continues to inspire her every day.

When she isn’t at CTBS, Joy enjoys reading, painting, and going on “mommy-daughter” dates, as well as learning to cook and bake new dishes. She also finds joy in studying the Bible, spending quality time with family and friends, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and hiking.

Her relationship with God remains a priority, and Joy views her career as a means to serve Him by helping others. As the third oldest in a family of nine children, she has cultivated a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and compassion. Joy deeply values her support system and is grateful for the incredible friendships she has built during her time at CTBS.
