The Moon is not done shining just yet. The second half of 2025 is packed with stunning full moons, rare eclipses and brilliant supermoons that will light up the night sky and your imagination. Whether you are a seasoned stargazer or someone who just loves a magical night, these upcoming lunar events are not to be missed.

Starting off the lunar line-up is the Buck Moon on July 10, named for the time when male deer begin growing new antlers. It marks a powerful and natural phase of growth and summer energy.

Next, the Sturgeon Moon rises on August 9, rooted in Native American tradition. It’s named after the sturgeon fish once found in abundance during this time. It casts a calming glow during the warmest part of the year.

Then comes one of the most anticipated events of the year. On September 7, the Blood Moon Eclipse will fill the sky with a deep red hue as Earth’s shadow moves across the Moon. It’s haunting, powerful and perfect for those who crave something dramatic and rare.

The Moon gets up close and personal with the First Supermoon on October 7, appearing larger and brighter as it reaches its closest point to Earth.

But the real showstopper arrives on November 5 with the Biggest and Brightest Supermoon of 2025. This one will dominate the sky like no other. If you only watch one full moon this year, make it this one.

Finally, December 4 closes the year with a Supermoon Lunar Eclipse, combining size, brightness and drama in one unforgettable night.

Mark your calendars, charge your cameras and look up. The Moon is ready to put on a show.

Buck Moon 2025: The Farthest Full Moon From the Sun Is Rising Tonight 🌕✨

Look up tonight, the cosmos is putting on a spectacular show. On this July 10, 2025, the Buck Moon will reach its peak, and it's not your average full moon. This one holds a rare title: the most distant full moon from the Sun this entire year.

So, what makes this Buck Moon so special? It's all about perfect celestial timing. Just last week, Earth reached its aphelion the point in its orbit when it’s farthest from the Sun. And now, with the full moon rising right on the heels of that moment, we’re witnessing the year’s most distant lunar view from our place in the solar system. It’s a beautiful cosmic coincidence.

The moon will officially reach its peak fullness at 4:36 p.m. EDT today, but the best time to soak it in is shortly after sunset. Expect it to rise around 8:53 p.m. local time in most regions. As it climbs the horizon, get ready for the "Moon Illusion" a visual trick where the moon appears much larger and more dramatic when it's low in the sky. It’s an awe-inspiring sight that never gets old.

And the name “Buck Moon”? That comes from Native American and colonial-era traditions. July marks the time when male deer, or bucks, begin to grow their antlers, symbolizing strength, renewal, and the natural rhythms of the wild.

So grab a blanket, head outside, and take a moment to watch the night sky. This isn’t just a full moon it’s a reminder of our connection to the vast, elegant dance of the universe. Don’t miss it.
