Unfortunately this contract transition is causing so many issues for so many families.
❓Having issues with the new contract transition❓
While the majority of problems have occurred with the TRICARE West transition from HNFS to Triwest, there have also been issues in the East.
Please consider sharing your story with your Congressional representatives and senators to inform them of the impacts from both the beneficiary and provider perspective.
Find your Congressional members’ contact info at www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member and write to them about the impacts and long-term effects the TRICARE transition is having on your business or access to healthcare.
Also, please share the below infographic to give them a bigger picture of the issues we are experiencing as a military community.
Here are two simple examples of how to use the infographic to share your story using a simple formula of introduction, issue, effects, and long-term impacts:
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am spouse of a member of the US Army. As a TRICARE West beneficiary I have recently discovered my referrals from last year for mental health counseling have been dropped by the system. I have had to cancel the appointments that I scheduled six months ago because of a lack of mental health providers near Base X. I require these appointments because of severe depression and feel like these continued gaps in service are negatively impacting my resilience.
My name is Robert and I am the owner of Mental Health Services Clinic, which proudly serves the military community near Base X. As a TRICARE West provider, I have been unable to receive payment for services my clinic has rendered for the last two weeks. I recently contacted TriWest and was told to expect a paper check in 4-6 weeks which is unacceptable. If I am not reimbursed in a timely manner then I will be forced to close the clinic next month, which is the only location within 50 miles of Base X.
