Mountain Muse Massage Therapy - Michelle Sicard-Durney, CMT

Mountain Muse Massage Therapy - Michelle Sicard-Durney, CMT Michelle Durney, Certified Massage Therapist. My touch is compassionate, deliberate and focused directly on the needs of my client.

Since 1998, I have worked extensively with people living with chronic and acute pain conditions, semi-pro, professional and recreational athletes and those that are looking for traditional swedish or deep tissue massage. My style of massage is rooted in traditional Swedish Massage techniques, with integration of deep tissue, myofascial release, range of motion and stretching techniques, all based on the needs of my client. Over the years, I've received the following certifications:

- Sports Massage, pre and post event

- Orthopedic Massage, working with clients who are under the care of a doctor, chiropractor or physical therapist, recovering from traumatic injury or surgery.

- Breast Cancer & Mastectomy Massage

- Massage and PTSD, working with veterans, victims of abuse and those that are dealing with grief and trauma.

- Newborn Massage, teaching new parents how to massage their newborn. By appointment only

Well I have some exciting news to announce! First of all, I have a new location for my private massage therapy practice. Rhonda of Soul Shine Services has invited me to share her relaxing space, conveniently located above the Killington Welcome Center. I've known Rhonda for a few years now, she's a very caring and talented massage therapist. I couldn't be happier to have this opportunity.

At this time, I’m scheduling by appointment only, I do not have set days and times of availability, but I'll be sure to update my hours when that changes. If you’re interested in scheduling a massage, give me a call or shoot me a text with the day and time you’d like to schedule, 802-417-2417 and I’ll be sure to reply as quickly as I can.

Now for the real exciting news. This has been in the works for quite some time and now that all the i's are dotted and t's crossed, I get to share that I am now a massage therapist with the non-profit organization called the Hand to Heart Project.

If you haven’t already heard about this amazing organization, I’m thrilled to be able to share a little bit about it with you. The Hand to Heart Project provides in-home massage therapy and compassionate touch to people with cancer and their caregivers for FREE. I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to be part of this beautiful organization. They have been doing this throughout western New Hampshire and eastern and southern Vermont since 2007 and now they are starting to serve our area and hopefully one day they’ll be helping people everywhere.

To learn more about this organization, make a donation or refer someone for massage, visit their website at www.handtoheartproject.org.

The Killington Stage Race is this weekend, I have a few openings left on Saturday and Sunday so call today to schedule your pre or post event massage.

For these types of events my clients love the Magnesium Sports Massage. It's an ideal treatment for pre or post event massages, using magnesium oil and essential oils to alleviate muscle soreness and tension, while increasing circulation, flexibility and muscle tone. It helps to prevent injury, encourages optimal performance during the event and helps with recovery after an event.

Magnesium Oil helps minimize calcium build up that can cramp and tense muscles and is perfect for those with active life styles. Magnesium Massage alleviates chronic pain and muscle cramps by restoring magnesium levels in the body through skin absorption; allowing the magnesium to go directly through your skin and immediately into the cellular tissue.

A 30 minute treatment is only $50. Visit my website for more treatments and prices.

For an additional $15 you can have full use of the pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna, just what you need after an event like the Killington Stage Race!

Be well!

Being a massage therapist, I have developed a deep appreciation for how truly amazing, intelligent and beautiful our bodies are in whatever stage they exist. So often the term fascia comes up in sessions, this video gives an excellent depiction of fascia, it's fibrilles and why water is so important to it's functionality. I love the awe this man speaks with, I can relate (as I totally geek out on this video). https://youtu.be/qSXpX4wyoY8

To help our viewers understand the universality of the fascia we have looked at the complex connective tissue of a grapefruit followed by microendoscopic foo...

Last winter, I decided not to open private studio space, it was a difficult decision, but I just couldn't find the right space, that was also affordable. Well, I am so happy to announce that I have finally found the perfect space, it was right under my nose the whole time. As a matter of fact, I've been working there for the last 6 years!

Starting this week, my private clients will be able to come to my therapeutic massage studio, at the Spa at the Woods! My fees will remain the same, but now my clients will be in a beautiful facility, with the option to use the amazing pool, hot tub, steam room or sauna for only $15. Many of my regular clients would receive tremendous benefit from a soak in the hot tub or time in the steam room, before or after their treatment.

I will still continue to work for the Spa at the Woods and their clients, but I will no longer be offering certain body treatments like the exfoliation, wraps or hot stone through my private practice. I'm still happy to do those treatments, but you'll have to schedule them directly through the Woods.

This is such an exciting time for me professionally, I'm so thankful to the Spa at the Woods for giving me this opportunity, to work with them, and to expand my therapeutic massage practice, while providing a necessary service to our little mountain community.

I'd also like to thank you, my clients, for being patient, while I figured out what was going to work best for me and you. So when you're ready for your next massage, please give me call, same number: 802-417-2417. Be well!
