Oral Health Matters! 🦷

The NNMFHC Hygienist alone provided oral care to over 750 patients, delivering over $480,000 worth of care during the 2024-25 fiscal year. Overall, the Dental Clinic served almost 1,500 patients and provided over $1.3 million worth of services.

This great impact was made possible thanks to funding and support from the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF). With their help, NNMFHC patients are receiving not just treatment, but education and preventative care that helps them maintain healthier smiles and healthier lives overall.

• 306 deep cleans to prevent gum disease
• 186 maintenance treatments for gum disease
• 853 nutritional counseling sessions

Last Call for FREE Sports Physicals!

Wednesday, July 23, NNMFHC is offering FREE sports physicals for students in the following counties: Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Richmond County
This is the last day to take advantage of this service for the 2025-26 school year!

Sports Physicals!

Wednesday, June 11, marked the first day in 2025 of NNMFHC providing FREE sports physicals to students in the counties we serve. The day was a great success made possible by our volunteers and staff. Thank you to everyone that helped!

Don’t forget – FREE Sports Physicals!

NNMFHC is offering free sports physicals for students of Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Richmond County.

You do not have to be a patient! The only requirement is a completed NNMFHC Patient Information packet and a completed VHSL sports physical packet. The NNMFHC packets are available on NNMFHC.org for download OR at the high schools of the 5 counties, the Lancaster Library, and the NNMFHC Office in Kilmarnock. The VHSL packets are available at all schools.

Please arrive with BOTH the VHSL and NNMFHC packets COMPLETED!! This helps your appointment go smoother and helps keep us organized. If for some reason you are unable to, please arrive 30 minutes early for your appointment to complete the paperwork. We can’t promise rescheduling will be available, so please come prepared. Please also bring any insurance cards your child has. Students MUST have a guardian with them.

📢Event Cancellation Notice❗️: Yankee Point Marina Charity Concert

We regret to inform our community that the charity concert hosted by Yankee Point Marina, originally planned to support the Northern Neck–Middlesex Free Health Clinic, has been cancelled. This was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 7th from 6 pm – 9 pm.

Yankee Point Marina shared the following message: "We sincerely regret to have to change our fundraising plans for the 2025 season. This change is due to unforeseen last-minute staffing changes and shortages."

While the concert will no longer take place, we’re grateful to share that the Marina's restaurant, The Black Duck, still plans to make a donation on June 7th. Yankee Point Marina remains committed to supporting local charities throughout Lancaster County.

We deeply appreciate their ongoing partnership and look forward to future collaborations that benefit the health and well-being of our community.

We offer free sports physicals!

The Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic (NNMFHC) provides sports physicals during the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of June and July at our main office in Kilmarnock free of charge!

NEW THIS YEAR: Our recently re-opened Westmoreland Outreach Clinic is offering one day of sports physicals on June 17th from 9 am to 1 pm.

Please bring your completed sports physical paperwork, insurance cards, and a parent/guardian.

Someone very generous donated these vegetables and bread to NNMFHC to give to our patients. Feel free to drop by and fill a bag.

You do NOT have to have an appointment and you do NOT have to be a patient to pick out some fresh vegetables.

NNMFHC was thrilled to host some incredible partners in this quarter!

We welcomed Rx Partnership, a nonprofit dedicated to improving access to medications for vulnerable populations across Virginia. As an AMP site, NNMFHC works closely with RxP to help fill prescriptions for other clinics and their patients - an essential part of expanding healthcare access in our region.

It’s the first day of Spring!! This also means that pollen season has begun.

Here are some tips for managing seasonal allergies:

🌸 Limit outdoor exposure, especially in the mornings
🌸 Keep an eye on the pollen forecast
🌸 Take your prescribed allergy medication from your provider
🌸 Keep windows and doors closed as often as possible
🌸 Wash your hands, shower, and/or change clothes after being outside
