PSU 308 and US Coast Guard Station Gulfport set up a 32' TPSB and a 24' Shallow Water Boat Saturday at Long Beach Chamber of Commerce's Touch A Truck event. Approximately a hundred children explored the boats, learned about our Coast Guard assets and the Coast Guard in general. PSU 308 and US Coast Guard Station Gulfport set up a 32' TPSB and a 24' Shallow Water Boat at todays Bay St. Louis CASA of Hancock County Touch a Truck event. Fun was had by all. Approximately 500 children had the opportunity to climb on and learn about our Coast Guard assets and the Coast Guard in general. Today a boat crew from 308 conducted two boat training with U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel 7795 (aka the Ring Dang Doo) out of Gulf Port, MS. AUX Vessel 7795 was also on scene conducting Air Drop pick up operations for a CASA that was in the area. The 308 crew also accomplished search pattern training, numerous BECCEs (Basic Engineering Casualty Control Exercises) and boat handling training on a rather windy day. Yesterday concluded another great drill weekend for PSU 308. Shoreside Security Division conducted entry control point training at the Reserve Readiness site in Gulfport.
