School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin (SNA-WI)

School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin (SNA-WI) SNA is a national, nonprofit professional organization that advocates quality nutrition to children through education and support for our members.

The School Nutrition Association (SNA) is a national, nonprofit professional organization representing more than 51,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. The Wisconsin Chapter of SNA (SNA-WI) has over 1,150 members, over half of which are certified, and another 30 have achieved their SNS Credential (School Nutrition Specialist). In conjunction with th

e national office and valuable industry support, SNA-WI has been working to advance the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education. The organization is in constant contact with Congressmen, Senators and Representatives to influence important nutrition legislation. Meaningful achievement awards have been created at the state and national level to recognize professionalism in the industry, and to help members offset expenses to attend state-wide and national events. SNA-WI strives to be the recognized school food service resource for child nutrition information in the State of Wisconsin by providing opportunities for professional growth and development for school food service personnel. This is accomplished by encouraging members to participate in the many education events offered by SNA-WI, regional and local Chapter events, affiliated organizations such as the Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Dairy Council, Hunger Task Force and many others.

It’s exciting to see our State Representatives getting involved in school nutrition! Recently, Representative Joers visited the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, where he jumped in to help with the lunch rush and learned more about their nutrition program.

Thank you to Representative Alex Joers for visiting Middleton High School to tour our nutrition operations and helping with our lunch rush!

Rep. Joers is a supporter of the School Meals for All initiative in Wisconsin. His visit was an opportunity to talk with members of our outstanding Nutrition Services team and get a behind-the-scenes look at our nutrition operations.

Rep. Joers helped served lunch to Middleton High School freshmen, sampled a fruit smoothie, and learned from MCPASD Food and Nutrition Supervisor David Montag how MCPASD fuels more than 7,000 students with delicious and nutritious meals every day!
