Honored to once again provide recovery care for the US Rugby team during their DC tour 🇺🇸🏉
Following last year’s DC match and the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup 2024 in Japan, I’m truly grateful to work with the team this year again.

A few players remembered the care I gave them in Japan and said they were hoping I could treat them again this time — such a meaningful moment for me as a therapist.
Huge thanks to Willie for your continued trust and support 🙏
And… I was gifted a signed ball — such a special and emotional moment!

Tomorrow, Team USA faces England in a double-header, featuring both the men’s and women’s teams 🔥
And in September, they’ll take on Japan in California. Can’t wait!

I’m honored to have supported the as a sponsor.

As the owner and massage therapist at Elite Performance Sports Massage, I’ve always believed in giving back to the sport that shaped who I am.

Watching the young athletes’ focus and joy on the field — especially as they trained with a professional player and coaches they admire — reminded me of the power of sport to inspire and unite.
Thank you to , Coach Mami and all the participants, their families, management staffs and fellow sponsors for making this event so meaningful.

Aromatherapy for Athlete Conditioning

For athletes looking to improve performance and recovery, aromatherapy is a powerful support tool. Essential oils can address both physical and mental aspects of training. Here are effective ways to incorporate them:

1. Enhance Mental Focus & Clarity
Essential oils like peppermint, rosemary, and eucalyptus help sharpen focus and ease anxiety. Inhaling these scents before a workout or competition promotes a clear, alert mind.

2. Natural Energy Boost
Citrus oils such as lemon and grapefruit elevate mood and stimulate natural energy. Use them as part of your pre-workout routine to enhance motivation and readiness.

3. Relaxation & Stress Relief
Lavender and chamomile are known for their calming effects. Incorporating them into yoga, meditation, or breathwork can reduce stress and reset the body and mind—ideal before competitions.

4. Muscle Recovery & Inflammation Relief
After intense physical activity, oils like eucalyptus, ginger, and chamomile can help relieve muscle soreness and inflammation. Apply topically (diluted) or add to a warm bath.

5. Better Sleep Quality
Sleep is the foundation of recovery. Lavender and cedarwood promote deep relaxation, helping athletes fall asleep faster and recover more fully. Use in a diffuser or pre-bedtime bath.

6. How to Use Essential Oils
• Inhalation: Use a diffuser or place drops on a cloth to inhale.
• Topical Application: Dilute in carrier oil and massage into muscles.
• Bathing: Add a few drops to warm bathwater.
• Pre-game Rituals: Include aroma in your mental prep routine for focus.

7. Safety Tips
• Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before applying to the skin.
• Perform a patch test to check for allergic reactions.
• Consult a healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions.

To All Athletes:
Scent is more than a feeling—it’s a strategy. Find the essential oils that support your needs and elevate your training, performance, and recovery every day.

✨ Introducing Functional Therapy+Movement + Massage = Sustainable Results

I'm excited to now offer Functional Therapy—a powerful blend of Movement Therapy and Therapeutic Massage.

This new service was inspired by my recent certification as a Pilates Mat Teacher, and is designed for those who are ready to take an active role in their wellness.

This service is especially helpful for:

✔️ Those who have completed physical therapy but still struggle to move confidently

✔️ Individuals dealing with chronic pain or poor posture

✔️ Anyone who wants to integrate bodywork with intentional, functional movement
This is not a spa service.

This is focused, hands-on care + guided movement for long-term results.

🚫 Relaxation- or beauty-focused sessions are no longer offered.
💪 I'm currently accepting clients who are committed to proactive, performance-driven care.

⭐️New Service Announcement⭐️

I add MOVEMENT THERAPY for new service!

Why movement therapy need with massage therapy?
I obtained certification as a Pilates Mat Teacher and have begun integrating movement therapy with massage. This allows me to provide more comprehensive care to my clients.

In massage therapy, I aim to relax tense muscles and increase the range of motion in shortened muscles, creating a body less prone to injury. On the other hand, movement therapy awakens and strengthens dormant muscles, leading to a body that tires less easily, improved posture, and enhanced mobility. This supports more sustainable, long-term health.

My goal is to serve as a bridge between medical care and fitness, offering approaches tailored to each client’s condition and objectives. Age is not a barrier to starting exercise. What matters most is a therapist who can identify correct movements and making a session plan the client needed and your positive mindset.

I encourage you to commit to at least 10 sessions of movement therapy. Through these sessions, your body will undoubtedly undergo changes that those around you will notice.

Why not take the first step toward a better you through this new experience?

**For individuals without health issues, engaging in movement therapy is generally safe. However, if you are currently undergoing physical therapy, receiving medical treatment, or have any existing medical conditions, please consult your physician before starting movement therapy.

2024 has been an incredible year filled with growth, learning, and exciting opportunities. I had the privilege of working with local high school athletes, providing care for Team USA both in the United States and Japan, and supporting professional athletes in their recovery and performance.

I’m also grateful for the amazing network of Sports Massage Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Coaches and health professions nationally and internationally I connected with this year. Through these connections, I gained valuable insights and continued to expand my skills.

Looking ahead, my goal is to further incorporate orthopedic massage techniques, focusing not only on muscles but also on ligaments and the nervous system. I aim to continue collaborating with specialists to provide highly targeted and effective care as a massage therapist and sports massage specialist. Additionally, I plan to integrate movement-based therapy into my practice to enhance recovery, mobility, and performance for clients who are committed to achieving optimal physical health and functionality.

Thank you to everyone who supported me this year—I truly appreciate your trust and encouragement. I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the year ahead! Miwa, LMT -Elite Performance Sports Massage
