We have updated our COVID-19 Protocol:

We are currently offering virtual therapy and clinic visits!

If you are coming in for a clinic visit:
- Please make sure you are not having any symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell)
- Please come alone, unless you are a minor or have special circumstances that require someone to accompany you
- STAY IN YOUR CAR until we come and get you. This allows us to wipe everything down BEFORE you come in
- Wear a mask and avoid touching your face
- Once you come in, we will take your temperature and you will be asked to wash your hands

Thank you for your efforts in keeping our community safe!

Do you know the importance of exercise on overall health? The benefits range from improvements in cardiovascular health, bone density, pain relief, and mental health. We want to remind our community to keep moving your body through this quarantine! Whether it be going on daily walks, doing a home work-out program, or participating in our virtual therapy.

The research article below found that resistance exercise significantly increased levels of anandamide (one of the body's pain-relieving compounds), decreased pain intensity and depression scores, and increased muscle strength in patients with fibromyalgia.

The health and wellness of our community has always been the corner stone of our practice and mission statement. At this time Potomac Physical Therapy has decided to cancel in-person visits until 4/6/2020 to help keep our community safe and healthy during this COVID-19 crisis. We continue to look forward to serving our patients and are happy to announce that we will now be offering e-visits through a user friendly program. This will allow us to guide our patients through exercises, offer education on pain management techniques and progress plans of care. To find out more please contact us at 540-469-0009 ext 2. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to us or your individual therapist. By social distancing now we can help end this pandemic. Together we will get through this and our community will be stronger and closer than ever!

03/15/2020

Potomac Physical Therapy remains open at this time. Your health and wellness is our top priority. If you are a person at high risk or just uncomfortable we encourage you to cancel and stay home. (Any cancelation fees will be waived) At this time we will continue to serve the physical therapy needs of our community and have taken advanced measures to ensure our facility is clean and sanitized. Please continue to check back here for any future updates. In the meantime, we look forward to treating you and hope you and your families stay healthy and can enjoy some of this extended time together. Thank you!
