Honored to attend the Women’s Medical College Firstival in Philadelphia celebrating the world’s first medical school for women, founded in 1850. The event is part of Philadelphia’s year-long “Firstivals” series recognizing innovations and historic firsts that originated in the city as we approach the nation’s 250th anniversary.

As a third-generation female physician, following my mother and grandmother, this history feels especially meaningful. Grateful to carry forward the legacy of women in medicine today at Drexel University College of Medicine and to share the moment with my husband

📢 2026–2027 Drexel Dermatology Research Fellowship (FUNDED)
The Drexel University Department of Dermatology, in partnership with UVtec, is offering a funded 9–12 month dermatology research fellowship for individuals passionate about dermatologic research and scholarship. 🌟
🔬 What You’ll Do:
✅ Lead and support cutting-edge dermatology research
✅ Co-author and present multiple manuscripts
✅ Collaborate on projects involving UPF textiles, sustainability, bioethics, and dermatologic health
✅ Participate in clinical observerships, conferences, and journal clubs
💰 Compensation: $1,500/month stipend (no benefits)
📍 Location: Primarily remote, with some in-person opportunities
📅 Duration: 9–12 months
📅 Start Date: June 1, 2026

I had the opportunity to discuss collagen supplements with Fox News about what the research actually shows about collagen supplements. Some studies suggest modest improvements in skin hydration and elasticity, but strong independent evidence demonstrating sustained increases in dermal collagen is still limited.
