As Mother’s Day approaches, we spent some time talking with our wonderful residents about motherhood, their mothers, and the memories that still mean so much to them. Their answers were simple, heartfelt, and full of wisdom. 💐
✨Question 1: What is one lesson you hoped to teach your children? ”Obey God.”
✨Question 2: What’s something motherhood taught you? “ To be kind to everyone… to set an example.”
✨Question3: What’s your favorite memory of your mother? ”Helping and working with her as we canned things from the garden… I learned a lot from her.”
✨Question 4: What is the sweetest gift you ever received from your kids? “A nice card.”
✨Question 5: What did your mother do that made you feel loved? “Just showing up”
✨Question 6: What do you think makes a good mother? “Let them (children) be what they want to be!”
✨Question 7: What’s one thing you love most about being a mother? “The babies and the grandbabies.”
✨Question 8: What was your mom’s “signature dish”? “Sausage, potato, and onion casserole.”
✨Question 9: What was something you said all the time as a mom? “I love you!”
✨Question 10: What makes you especially proud as a mom? “To see my kids happy and glad.”
Motherhood looks different for everyone, but love, guidance, and presence leave lasting memories across generations. ❤️
