This past weekend I took a trip to Jet, Oklahoma to visit the Great Salt Plains State Park. This park is home to Hourglass Selenite, a unique type of Crystal found only there. I spent the day digging in the salty earth and found several specimens like this one pictured!

Did you know Oklahoma has such a phenomenal geological site? Have you been?

Reiki is a hands-on natural and holistic modality that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and facilitates healing. The term comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki, an abundant, gentle energy, is not tied to any specific religion or nationality.

A Reiki session last about 45 minutes during which the client lies fully clothed on a massage table. The Reiki Practitioner gently places their hands palms down on or just above the client‘s body in specific energy locations. There is no pressure, massage, or manipulation.

The client may experience energy sensations such as heat, tingling, or pulsing where the practitioner has placed their hands. While some may not perceive any change, most clients feel deeply relaxed, peaceful, and may even fall asleep.

Benefits of Reiki include, but are not limited to:
- a peaceful, deep state of relaxation
- a feeling of harmony and balance
- release of tension
- clear mind and improved focus
- better sleep
- emotional and spiritual growth

Reiki is NOT a replacement or substitute for traditional medical treatment or therapy. It is, however, an excellent complementary service that can enhance the efficacy of other types of healing.

The 5 Reiki Principles help us lead a healthier and happier life. They remind us to take things day by day. If you find yourself worrying, not being kind, etc, you always have the opportunity to try again tomorrow.

They invite us to let go of worry and anger, practice gratitude, deal with ourselves and others with integrity, and treat others and ourselves with compassion.

Just for today…

I will be grateful.
