Healing Hearts Comforting Hands

On June 15th I received a call from a family in desperate need for care & lost in so many way’s. As well as having the health care system fail them.

I was working with a family at that time & couldn’t fit this family in & then that evening I got a call from the family I was working with & they decided on another option for their loved one.

I called back the family & let them know I had availability by some crazy chance & circumstances changed. They were elated.
It has been a long road everyday working with this family as I’ve had to do everything backwards as the client was in nevada, out of town family & family here.
As well as setting up everything from scratch from medical supplies to endless calls day after day to get thing’s in place. I was tired before I started…..

August 17th I got to witness a family be reunited with their loved one who has been away for a long time.
The gurney transport pulled up & the back doors opened & his wife was overwhelmed with emotion as was her husband. A 53 year marriage & finally reunited after a very lengthy out of town hospital stay. I took a video & pictures to send to the family & for them to have as well. I just cried with happiness to see such a beautiful reunion & feel the love.
To see the look of relief on my client’s face that
“He was Home” 😭

Yesterday before I left home: He said- Tina, when those doors opened & I saw you do you remember me saying…..You must be Tina? (We’ve been talking on the phone prior to meeting in person)
I said- I do remember.
He said- (crying) I saw you & your smile & I just knew then everything was going to be ok, I was finally where I need to be & you made me feel hope again, I needed you.
I’m so happy to have you here with me & proceeded to ask for a hug: I gave him a squeeze & he held my hand & just cried happy tear’s thanking me- I said you don’t have to continue thanking me, it’s my pleasure!
He kissed my cheek & I told him good luck getting rid of me (smiling at him) he said there’s no way anyone is going to take me away from him. (His wife said- Yeah, the same goes for me) 🥺

Oh’ My Caregiver Heart has melted over & over in these past couple of day’s with this family, it’s been very emotional & reminds me why I work so hard with families & go the extra in everything I do.
Through all my own aches, pains & life stuff, I’m
So Glad I can truly push through it all to help other’s & bring them peace, happiness & the Best Care!
It’s what I do……..

Send healing ❤️‍🩹 vibes our way, this is a journey that will require a lot of strength, patience, time & hard work.
I may have to sacrifice some family time, some me time, etc for a little bit until I get thing’s in order & settled.
But for now I’m going to Work My:

Oh’ Yessss…… 💛
I’ve been so fulfilled in each & every one of my client’s I’ve had throughout so many year’s.
Day in & Day out we spend so many hour’s together & very much time together.

I love how we touch one another’s life- We get so much out of each other from teaching one another new thing’s of all sorts, great communication that ends in a lot of stories that result in lifelong memories, a bond & love forms that is life changing.

It’s a Beautiful Day to take a Deep Breath 😮‍💨

To the families waiting on services for their loved one to get home & everything is behind & short staffed. You’re being held up & the frustration is setting in.
I can assure you this also is part of the process. Not an easy one to be patient through.

I am glad I am able to help you maneuver around these obstacles. Everything will come together.
I find now we are working backwards in some cases which has been an adjustment on my behalf as well.

However, we keep pushing forward to the end goal. Being your caregiver this is where my emotional support is helping your family before I start taking care of your loved one.

Keep your heads up families, lean into your caregivers for help & support where you need it. I know myself doing this for my families makes all of the difference.

As a Caregiver (speaking for myself) it is very true of a lot that one on the opposite side does not see or know all of the Sacrifices you make.

A lot of time, patience, effort, caring & planning go into the start of the process from when you meet with the families & going forward. A lot of mental strength goes into doing your best with the one you’re caring for while maintaining for the families, a spouse, etc.
You spend hour’s with one, you put your heart & soul into your caring, you go the extras in all & give all of you.

As a Caregiver maintaining yourself isn’t always easy, prioritizing our needs, our families needs, maintaining a social life & making time for us.

I give my all when I go in with families & take on a client & give the best care. I bring the extra.

Families when you’re choosing a Caregiver for your loved one keep an open, honest dialogue as I do for you, Families take into consideration if you hire on a Caregiver give them the respect they give & committed to your family & loved one.

The transition takes a little time & patience. Give it what it deserves & carry the respect throughout. We care & our doing the very best on our parts to make your lives easier, your loved one’s life better & have a full circle met to become a great experience for everyone involved.

Don’t take your Caregiver for granted because at the end of the day we are the one’s who are coming in to give you the very best of us & pride ourselves in doing so.

Alzheimer’s, Dementia & Parkinson’s are Brutal Diseases to accept & deal with.

Your loved one thinks they are Ok & don’t need help. Meanwhile a family member, spouse, etc is taking on the caregiving role while trying to keep up with themselves & life. This is hard & can cause a burn out rapidly, stress & put yourself or the one who is trying to manage it all at risk in their own health.

Coming in as a Caregiver on my part is what I do, what I love, what I have a passion for & am very knowledgeable in.
I see these families overwhelmed & stressed, doubting their decision to bring on care, canceling service, etc.
This is new for a loved one & not fun for them.
In their eyes they don’t need a “babysitter” they don’t need “help” but they do & it’s the best decision for them & all of the family.

Give the adjustments at least 4 week’s & everything will fall into place. It’s hard in the moment, but as you keep a routine, a schedule, keep pushing through telling your loved one the Care is positive & that you love them.
In this time hearing them unhappy & not liking the change can be difficult. After this stage passes it will settle down & become the new normal.
You will then be able to see through different eyes & a base will be established.

The Best advice I can give to the families in these time’s is to keep in mind:
It’s a PROCESS! CHANGE takes TIME!
Give me time to work my Magic~
You will not be disappointed.
You ALL are WORTH it!

So very true & powerful!
In caregiving you give your all to one who needs you, needs your entirety. It is important that you as their caregiver are fully in tune with your client, building a bond & trust.

They depend & count on YOU!
You be the difference in these individuals lives you come into contact with, you make sure the family is comfortable & at ease throughout the time & journey with one.

Your love, kindness, laughter & compassion will carry through more than you can imagine.
To bring one happiness in the good & bad day’s is important. They see & know- You’ve Got Them.

Take care of one the way you would take care of one of your own, take care of one how YOU would want to be taken care of, as we all will be in one position or another in our lives where we need help & dependence on other’s. So Give in a way how you would like to Receive~

All of these are True & a Great Caregiver is hard to find~
In these crazy overwhelming time’s I’ve been running into families that just don’t know where to start, have a lot of anxiety on where to start & not certain they should leave a loved one.
As they are doing it all on their own & burnt out with no time for themselves or their families.

My best advice to these families are: It’s Ok to have help, Hire the Caregiver!
You’re going to burnout & then not be able to
Care for anyone because you now are forced to take care of yourself.
It is my job to come in & help make all of your accommodations, communicate with you & your loved one to have a smooth transition having a caregiver come into your home to take care of your loved one.
Your loved one is worth it & so are you!

When I meet with families for care for one of their loved one’s there is a lot that goes into making sure everything fits just right.
In order to give your all, all of you & go the extra miles you have to make sure the overall vibes are aligned with all.

For myself I thoroughly enjoy the one on one experience with my client, the bonding, the process of developing a greater trust & a gentle love that’s graced upon doing so.

In most cases I’ve loved the longevity part of it & recently I’ve loved being able to help where I can in the short term.

The craziness of the short terms for myself has been even though the day’s were limited they felt so much more.
That’s where the Passion presents itself to me & lights in me.

It never fails to show me, teach me, flare my Caregiver Heart ♥️ & I’m able to always say:
Caring for one is a Privilege! 🙏🏽

This is Such a POWERFUL PHOTO……
I have not lost my Mother (thank god) I have lost my Father & I’ve lost many, many loved one’s. Family, Friend’s & Client’s.
It is a surreal moment, in all of the sadness there is always some beauty that shines through.

The privilege & honor to be in that moment with one, to give a piece of yourself that is so raw, to manage to stay standing upright & to do it with Grace & Love.

It is the hardest thing to do but a blessing as whole. It takes a piece of you that stays with you the rest of your life. You also give so much to that person in that transition stage of life.

Security, a feeling of safeness, divine love, calmness, tranquility, song & a voice of- I’ve Got You, It’s OK to Go…. You feel everything shift in this moment!

This photo is so powerful. I was with my precious Mother until her last breath, laying beside her holding her in her bed. I write this with tears in my eyes, but I know she went peacefully and felt safe.❤ I miss her everyday.

In Caregiving you never truly know what to expect.

Are so very true & important to remember when everything may feel out of whack!
You don’t know what may happen to your client, one of their family members or yourself.
So you have to be prepared for anything at anytime even though it may not be easy.

We never know it at the time BUT…..

Don’t forget to take care of YOU!
Through all of the hustle & bustle the day’s get long. You continue to do, do, do for everyone else & put yourself on the back burner. 😕
This is very easy to do as you get so involved with your client & their needs. You want to take everything off of the family’s shoulder’s.

The weight gets heavy!

This is so true!
For myself being a caregiver is the most rewarding feeling, the passion I feel in my soul for it & the daily gift I receive from it. The knowledge, the learning, the awareness never stops & daily growth aspires. It is true we truly go through more then we say, we keep our smile & optimistic positive outlook. The wear & tear can catch up quickly, especially when you truly invest yourself for all of the right reasons & do the “Job” to the upmost best of your ability. I put job in quotations as I truly don’t consider it a job as it’s so much more than that!

The honor & privilege it is to care for people is precious, treat it with the upmost respect. I love what I do, the feelings of these stated reassures me I’m doing it right. I’m learning that Self care is a learning process for me, I put the needs of other’s high above my own.... so trying to step back just a little to look above what I do & realize & acknowledge what I need or can do for myself. All in the journey of learning & growing!

Deep breaths, one foot in front of the other & keep rising~

I’m Blessed & thankful for a wonderful support system in family & friend’s. Like I always say “Keep on Keeping on”

The feeling of a comforting embrace is one you feel throughout your Soul!

Caregiving for the one’s you love builds an intimate bond, a trust & a divine love. I have been blessed to take care of some Beautiful people.
The year’s you spend with them, the hour’s that add up each & every day, the amount of time you spend in their home doing the “All’s” it becomes your first home.
Your time solely starts to be on all of their time & needs.
You tend to put yourself on the back burner- it is so important to take time for you, your family & day’s off.

I’ve been with my client’s from the beginning until they take their last breath. It never gets easier, you never get used to it. It takes a piece of you.
You have a feeling of Loss & “Lost” afterwards as you’ve catered all of your day’s to theirs & them.
They are your routine & priority!

It’s important to take a break for yourself for mental clarity, rest & catching up on YOU.

With all of the Blessings & Gift’s caregiving rewards you- Make sure to reward yourself & that you have a wonderful support system.

I’ve been blessed with longevity with all of my client’s, learned so much throughout the way & love every bit of it.
